Rockbox for iBasso DX50 dual boot with stock firmware

You say the CWM is old and bad, what exactly does this mean for me? I'd like to dual boot with Rockbox and 1.6, but I'm not sure exactly what you mean.

To put it in a different perspective. CWM is not really required to support dual boot between Mango and Rockbox.

I suppose Cholero has it in future plans and release a patched DX50 FW without CWM.

Gotcha. Is the release that was posted with the ability to dual boot with 1.6 just as stable as the most recent update for 1.5? Or are they different?

They are the same in terms of stability.

The dualboot-app-cwm-zip (like every rockbox cwm-zip before) file contains the dualboot-app but also the Mangoplayer app (the stock UI). This is the only reason why I had to make a new zip. If you would flash the old one, you would have the 1.6.0 firmware with the mango app from 1.5.0.
The dualboot-app is exactly the same, rockbox also (no need to update).

So I can just flash it with the zip you provided and that's it? Then I'll be dual booted with 1.6 instead of 1.5?

Or do I just use an image file to update from 1.5 to 1.6?

Very close. I have plans to prepare a tool that patches the official firmware. This tool needs to be open source, it should run on as many different operating systems as possible and work for dx90 too. This tool will be for the official rockbox repository that everyone can patch the firmware. Until this is done, I look at the dx50 port as an unfinished project and my resposability to finish it (I hope I have soon time to finish this).
And yes, without cwm

Dear Cholero, many thanks for your work.
On the new Rokboks, the power button not  turns off the backlight on the screen playback . But goes to the main menu.
can You  do as before? The power button turns off the backlight and nothing else.(on the screen playback)

Sorry I did not understand everything.
If you have a black screen and wake it up with the power button, the screen stays black but touchscreen is activated?
And by the way, the "correct" functionality of rockbox is the one without my modern_ui patch.

In your version, I turned off the screen power button
I touch the screen the player stops or moves to another track but the screen is not lit.
When you touch the light is not on.
I cant see what I'm doing.
I must to press power  to turn on the backlight

OK. This is a new feature. You can give a delay between "backlight off" and "touchscreen+LCD off". Find it in settings/general setting/display/LCD setting/sleep. Set it to "always" if you want to have it as before.
