I would just get that model for the low price. Differences between them will be more obvious with higher end headphones than those. And the MKI is still a very nice sounding device.

The thing is, I plan to upgrade around December, to probably a full blown LA7000. And I dont plan on buying another DAC, for many many years.

In that case I would go for the latest and greatest. Since you intend to utilize USB at least part of the time, the new model will be more of a sure thing. Some computers didn't pair well with the prior model via USB for some reason. The new update should be pretty much guaranteed to be reliable due to the chipset used.

Thanks for the advice.

Awesome, I ordered the MKII last week and it should be here soon =) I am soooo excited haha. These will be driving my Ultrasone Pro 900's, but I may have to upgrade to D7k's or something... I'll come back with my impressions once it arrives! This is my first big dac/amp purchase haha

You guys are in for a treat. I picked up my D100 as my first proper dac/amp as well (very much based on Project86's favorable review), and I'm enjoying it immensely with my different CIEMs.

Same here

Except you had yours for a while for now :) The D100 is my first real good dac and i absolutely love it. For the price there really is nothing to complain about and it doesn't take up too much space.

Huh, that is a good deal, might jump on that as long as its the version II and shipping is free.

I just tried looking though and couldnt fnd that seller...

I have a question about this unit. The Low and High headphones outputs: I would like to leave my Denon AH-D5000's plugged into the Low and my Sennheiser HD-650's plugged into the high so I dont have to switch the cables each time I want to listen to the other. However what I would like to know is how does the D100II handle controlling the outputs to these two ports? Is there a switch or button to switch between one or the other or do they both just output a signal? And if they both output a signal what might be bad about leaving both headphones plugged in at the same time?
