[REVIEW] Sony MH1 – The Best Kept Secret
Mar 22, 2021 at 7:17 AM Post #3,781 of 3,824
Finally a MH1C that won't drop out of my ears 😂 Was my favourite IEM when it was a big hit around here but the cable killed me. Finally found someone who sells modded MMCX MH1C. Testing with my Tin T2 cable. This somehow sound less bassy and more balanced than my original one. Mesh looks different too. Sounds real good tho 🤷 any other cable to recommend?

Most comfortable IEM for me as well! If you got it from our Russian friend on eBay, I like the cable he supplied, the TRN 2 I think? With the 16 strands and earloop.

Yep! The MH1C just disappears. Nice and comfy with the TinT2 cable but it occassionally gets tangled. Do you wear your MH1C with the earloop? Looked awkward when I tried over the ear 😂

Yeap, loop for me. Haven't tried otherwise cause I only have the loop cable.

I got the MH1 for listening while in bed. Glad I did cause my next buy, the Fiio FH3, hurts my left ear a lot when lying for some time... And I have a second pair of MH1 on the way for back up. 😋

Nice. Will try it again later! A bargain compared to the FH3 😂 Glad to have this smooth sound back in rotation. The Tin T2 Pro treble was getting way too annoying. Now itching to maybe try a modded MH750...

I know what you are talking about, hehe. The FH3 is also more analytical and has punchier bass and is more refined in every way but indeed, the MH1/750/755 have a much warmer and cozier sound for long sessions or night time listening. I went with the MH1 cause I like the metal built more than the plastic 750/755.

I think your filter on the right is better. It has an anti-moisture layer so it will protect the foam damper inside from moisture.
I also have both of them in-stock conditions. I also opened the filter and found that the unit whose filter without an anti-moisture layer had a foam damper that broken due to humidity. While those with an anti-moisture layer have a good foam damper condition.

There is mine:
Left is with an anti-moisture layer.
Right without

Man, this is desperately quiet in here, nobody rocking the MH1 anymore?
I for one have yet to find as good a sound for as little money...

Come on people, show your love!
I switched to the Sony MH750 (and 755) they sound even better (!)

Are you sure you don't just like them more cause of the more v-shaped sound which makes them more exciting at lower volumes or in general for many people? Or for the less annoying cable? 😛
To me the MH750/755 sound too unnatural compared to the MH1. Quite further from neutral than the latter.
I use the MH750 too from time to time cause they stay in the ear a little better but I EQ both to Harman anyway. MH1 sounds better to me EQd as well.

Hi, greetings from Indonesia.
I just reordered MH1C after 7 years ago (it was MH1 back then) i ditched it because of the notorious flat cable. I turn to Hpm-77 and never looked back. Last week i read this thread again and i'm thinking what a fool i am, so i look for one and got it for just USD 6.46 to get it to my door. Almost half the price when i bought MH1. At first i'm not feeling optimistic about the genuinity of the product, but once i saw the bulk package, i can remember the characteristic of most of the Sony Ericsson bulk packaging (i was a Sony Ericsson fanboy lol). Open the plastic and look all over to check, yes i'm sure it was original Sony product before i hear it. Burning it right now . . .
