I don't doubt that, and if I owned an HE 6 I'd probably go for the DS, but after hearing the LCD 2 synergy for myself via the LF...I had to have one.

As I said, with any other headphone it sounds awesome. I have not try it with the LCD-2 but I listen to the LCD-3 driven with the LF and they sounded outstanding!

I had a LF for demo in my house and after the burn-in period I really liked it BUT I personally think it just marginally powers the HE-6. With the rest of headphones it is exceptional but with the HE-6 the DS is ahead IMO.

x2

Great review Steve. My experiences echo your words precisely.

Audio-GD Master-6, EF-6, Dark Star -> Shootout please!

I don't have any experience with the Audio-GD Master-6 but I did listen to the EF-6 at RMAF last October . If that is what is now in production IMO it is not even close to the DS league. It was nothing special or engaging in the sound at all.

It is generally a wrong assumption to think just because something is american made it is better built. I dont want to sound like a pain but for me if I never want to pay for something which cost +$1000 I expect the product designer to give me a detailed objective analysis of the product. It is a LOT of money.

I think in case of Ray Sameul we are paying more for the name than the product. My two cent, hope I didn't offend no one.

This is the case with most items that are premium price. I don't see how this is any different from any other amp in it's price range.

I'd like for this too! The EF-6 seems to be getting some high praise so far.

I agree with you, sadly it is not a standard in this industry to have objective evidence to support your product, placebo and subjectiveness plays a big role.

I have a Master-6 on the way, so if someone could send me a EF-6 and a Dark Star I will oblige

Totally agree with this. I have bought a number of items from China and the US and the only one that perfromed badly or was faulty was US made.
I am interested in the Decware Taboo but until I get the info I want (power output into 50 ohms so I know it can power all my phones) I won't take the risk.

There is no risk wirth decware you are over the pond is the only reason . The Taboo is best for low impedance cans  like the lCD2 and HE500.  The one thing is that decware is in the states and provides a lifetime warranty if anything goes wrong but then again  shipping for us is not expensive. Your best bet is buy the stuff in the UK so you dont get aggravated but reliability and quality is not an issue with their amps and if it was they would not be a 12 week wait for their product. They have almost 100 amps back ordered in their line. Has to say something for the company dont you think

If you looking for the best synergy with HE6 you need the juice dude but this amp will play my D7000.HE500 and LCD2 when I owned them and does it well. Now compare that to the UK products
