Review: Questyle Audio QP1R - With Multiple Headphone and IEM Pairings
Nov 22, 2016 at 7:22 PM Post #3,646 of 7,140
After reading this thread I went to try Questyle QP1r 2 times,  and then I just Sold the HM901 balance and buy the Questyle, They sound similar to my ear (natural with a tiny warm hint), but the Questyle is obviously more spacious and gives a better detail. The treble is smoother.
The dynamic is the only thing that HM901 balance is superior, but   Questyle is not far behind , it isnt slow at all (try the Cowon P1 you will see what I said slow, btw cowon P1 sounds good though)

Compared to  the AKs I would say , only the 380 that  I like more, some may say they like one of the AK's line up, but it is a personal preference.

p.s. Considering the price, the top Daps( for my taste),  I've tried so far are the LPG and Opus2 (Opus2 is very revealing , some may like it more than the 380 copper), that's my two cents

I've been listening to the new beta firmware - very good so far.  Should be a welcome addition with the new features!

Listening to the Massdrop x Noble X as I type this.  Review to come soon.

what features?  can it do proper tag browsing, and play an 'album' in proper track-order now?

Similar to the previous beta firmware process, I can not comment about features right now unfortunately, but when I get the green light, I will, if the powers that be do not post first/post.

Other than the wheel I loved this thing right out of the box.

Questyle is on the ball with another firmware release so soon. If moedawg140 says it good then I'm in for the wait.

Nice to know a new fw coming. Hoping for Artist/Album but seeing as QS thought it a 'good suggestion' rather than essential item, I won't hold breath! Might then be pleasantly surprised.

Coming from the Fiio X1, I am looking for an all-in-one solution DAP without any stack and the QP1R seemed to be the answer to that next to the less expensive Cayin N6.

I couldn't find anywhere for an audition since no one is selling them near where I live.

Is it possible to find any used QP1 if not the QP1R that could be of cheaper alternatives? This might be a risky jump since I have no one to audition with.

I really want to listen how this one sounds as it seems to be very close to everything I want for a DAP without any amp stacks.
