Yea I like them both the thing is idk if I'd rather save money and risk getting the im03 used or go safe and just buy the im02 new

I bought the IM04 used. The IM03 I'm using now was purchased used. Both from Amazon Warehouse.

If it's not to your liking, you can return it. At least through Amazon you can. There's really no risk to speak of.

Pinky, how are you liking your IM04? looking at the graph from Golden Ears, it seems like it has a hump at around 8kH to 9kH and i'm wondering if this is noticeable to you. Golden Ears hasn't tested the IM03 yet but it will be interesting to see how they compare.

Hey, I just noticed the graph for the IM03 is up at the Korean Golden Ears site (thanks to poster ZapX629 at the CKR thread):

That definitely shows the 04 as being darker, with less treble, compared to the 03. I still don't notice that hump in the upper-mids, though.

If you look at the GE perceived response, it seems that the reviewer doesn't either.

Measured are for machines, perceived graph should give us a better idea of its sound characteristics.

I just received the L Spinfit tips for the IM03 and no seal for me.

I have tried the Spiral Dots, Sony, UE, and many others, so far the Audeo is the best seal.

Have not been able to get the Ortofon tips yet.

Are we talking about squiggly lines and bars now? These are the ones that came with the IM02.

Dont worry about that, these bars and things are useless until you hear the real stuff, these are for a basic idea about how an earphone can sound.

How about monster's?....

And large bi-flanges just like hifiman's? this will be a costly affair ($15 from head-direct) if you purchase the original as accessory but it's hard to get anywhere and you can find nearly the size of it somewhere like ebay, aliexpress etc.

I need help picking one of these (IM03 and IM04 are out of my budget), my source will be mainly my iPhone and MacBook Pro (no amps or dacs), and will be primarily used at work and home.

I'll be listening to EDM/Electronic, with a various mix of Indie, Kpop, and Jazz. I'll also be using it to watch movies/shows.

03/04 are out of my budget.

I was picking between the IM50/70, IM01/02, and the CKR9.

IM70 and CKR9 would be best for what you like. Both would sound better through those sources and CKR9 has the best sound overall. IM02 is really good and I'd recommend it for female vocals and the indie and pop stuff but may not be the best for EDM. It really depends on how much bass you like and how smooth you like your treble. CKR9 is the best allrounder of the group.

According to the review, the IM70 is the better all-rounder, right? And the IM50 has deeper base and more suited for EDM.

I dislike how the IM70 comes only in red, really. I like how the CKR9 has a worn down cable.

I honestly can't decide.
