Try out a wider bore tip. It will open up the upper frequencies for a better more even sound. I was using hybrids as well but since have been using UE tips.. Try some tip rolling.
Ordered a remote cable for IM03. Lets see how the SQ is.

From my experience with tips, wide bores help in this regard. The highs sound very distorted when the bore is narrow. I prefer wider bore relative to driver bore size.
In my case, a wider bore tip tends to flesh out the highs more, which increases the sibilance... :/
The ck10s suffered this problem, and the im-02s even moreso.
However,
Tip rolling is a good idea.
I have the remote cable and noticed no difference with the stock cable. It doesn't work on the ZX1 though, does on the iphone.
I wonder if anyone has used sony mh650 tips on these. They are far better than hybrids at comfort and sound. Even better than UE tips. Please give them a try you won't regret it.
Comfort issues? Who said that? Not anymore after this mod. I cut the stem of etymotic hf5 mushroom tips and put onto the nozzle. Now the chasis don't touch my outer ear so there is no discomfort anymore and the sound became more open and clear. The other tips stems can also work on these. You must try this mode. The best part of this mod is now I can use every kind of tips with ease.
IM50+spacer+sony mh650c tips=pure bliss
interesting...
can you buy etymotic hf5 mushroom tips?
