It all depends on what type of music you listen too. If you mainly listen to classical and jazz then get the hd800. If you listen to wide variety of music than the la7000 is better. The la7000 is a lot like the T1 but more balanced. Both the hd800 and the la7000 have tight bass, but the la7000 is able to produce a little extra reverb when it is needed on pop/rock recordings.

I'll get to compare the LA7000 to a T1 this weekend.  I'd be surprised if I like the T1 as much, but we'll see.

I personally dont like the T1 as much. For some reason they seem a little boring. No prat?

I heard the R10 and LA7000 with a Meridian CDP > Shadow at the CO meet 2009, and it was pretty good.  The iPod with LOD will not be that good as a source, but the Shadow seems to do a very nice job with these if you use a good source.
