Are you asking about MK3 in comparision to earlier JK Hiface versions, like MK2?

The most natural, neutral non-fatiguing converter I've heard is the Off-Ramp 5. But after that, it's definitely the MK3 JKSPDIF.

I had an AP2+PP and disliked it. Sound was aggressive and bright. And I sold it soon.

Now I'm searching converter which gives analog natural sound.

I have never used AP2. I only have JK MK3 and I like the sound a lot.

Usually people think AP2's and MK3's performances are quite close to each other. Some prefer AP2 and some MK3. Actually I am surprised you don't like your AP2. Maybe users of AP2 should have their say...

Anybody who has/had MK3 compared it to other USB/SPDIF converters? Any interesting differences sound-wise?

Hi all,

I recieved recently a second hand JKSPDIF MK2, and there is a question that I have regarding the battery. When the device is disconnected from the charger, I can turn it on (the blue light turns on), but the computer does not recognize the JKSPDIF unless it is connected to the charger. So, somehow the battery is working (because the light is able to turn on when disconnected), but it is not able to operate without external power supply.

Is it normal for the MK2? I have already try to let it off and attached to the charger for several hours (about 4) and it does not change its behaviour.

Many thanks in advance for your help,

Best Regards,

Daniel

I know it's an old thread but maybe somebody will still come here.

My question: for the best sound quality - is it better to connect to Hiface Mk3 through ASIO or Hiface drivers (m2tech or young driver) ?

My system: PC laptop (Windows 8.1 with J.River Media Center 19) --> Hiface Mk3 --> Schiit Bifrost --> Schiit Lyr
