This place would be boring as all heck if we just stayed on topic with every single post.

you are right but i tell it how it is, and well i just bought the asg2 and the bass is so loud boomy and bleeding out like i a stuck pig fyi i hope this clears up with burn in all i can hear is a constant rumble it doesnt matter about wich way the bass port knob is facing definatly not top iem quality

LOL I was about to leave a really snarky reply until I saw your edit. Maybe try getting a Fiio E10 so you're not listening directly from your laptop. I'm not sure it's necessarily improve SQ because I don't know what laptop you have, but it should help isolate you from these problems again.

Added ER4S comparison to the first page.

Alright guys, last call for the ER4S mini-tour. I'll be sending it out at the end of the week.

Also, is anyone else in the states interested in hearing the ASG-2? I could send my pair out on a mini tour to maybe 3 members who are really curious, but not curious enough to get one for themselves. Just shoot me a PM.

The first few firmwares sucked the low end out of my asg2 and gave it a bit of sibilance (as someone that doesnt mind sibilance too much) but the recent firmwares have been much kinder to the asg2. I still find bass extension a bit lacking with the dx50 though so i still prefer dx50 line out to an amp. The line out ks quite nice :)

all gud bro , i am still finding these too bass heavy tho and mid recessed with heavy metal just to be sure anti clockwise is bp closed right ? it doesnt seem to make a diff jus so boomy like five times more than gro7 and 2 times more than ie8 other genres seem fine are yours boomy af aswell ?

Turn it towards the first slit/dash, not the O.

sounds corny but the words home theatre come to mind - expensive home theatre .i think these would be fantastic for like watching crappy movies like xmen or tranformers

That's actually a really good description for it! It just puts you in the middle of the music like nothing else I've heard before.

Dude, you're likely running the equivalent of an 8dB EQ boost on the bass hump from the line-out...

It really does excel here.

r u sure its not anything up with your DX50? I find myself most picky when it comes to bass quanitity... and an 8dB boost with something like the ASG2 would probably shatter my skulls.

No DX50 here. It's just speculation. I've heard the ASG-2 with a 100ohm adapter and the bass being boosted with the relative effect of the floor dropping out from under midrange was the result. Line out's generally have a relatively high output impedance because they aren't really meant to feed headphones etc directly, with the DX50's being something like 60-100ohm from the line out iirc. Kind of an if A=B and B=C then A=C exercise. That's why I said likely lol, because I don't have first party experience.

Lol total misunderstanding. Then that entirely explains why it sounds better with the line out cuz you'd be double amping otherwise.
