The original Fuze has been discontinued almost two years ago, so it is hard to find a new one at a good price. While the Fuze has longer battery life than the Clip+ and a larger screen, they sound the same.

Thank you so much for the details. Now I am quite sure that the sansa clip+ is the player I have been looking for, and will place the order in the forthcoming days. Thanks again for the patience.
:D

EDIT: placed the order...thanks to JK1.

An external headphone amp is only needed with the Sandisk players if you plan to use high impedance headphones with it. I have a Fiio E6 headphone amp which only costs around $25. It lets me use the Clip+ or Fuze with my old 150 ohm Sennheiser headphones. It doesn't work that well with my old 300 ohm Sennheiser headphones though, which really need a more powerful amp to work well with my Sandisk players.

The Clip+ won't play AAC files. It plays mp3, wma, FLAC, OGG, and Audible files. Support for WAV files is incomplete(assume it won't be able to play them).
