I've read on here several times that the AD-700s have replaceable cables. I'd really like to shorten up the cable on my paid without having to cut and rebind the cable. So where do I get a replacement cable, and how do I go about installing it?

Audio Technica told me this
"If you can solder you might consider cutting the 1/8 inch TRS connector off and soldering another on at the length you would like for the cable.  The AD-700 cable color code is unusual.  It is TIP / WHITE / LEFT, RING / RED / RIGHT, and SLEEVE / BLUE / SHIELD or GROUND."
 
So I'm willing to do this, but I've got not a clue where to begin. Anyone got a good guide?
