This is my first time reaching the $100 range for headphones, so you will have to exuse my ignorance. I can't find a whole lot of information on the Sennheiser HD 518, but it just fits with my budget.  Or would I be better off with choosing between the AD700 and SR80i?

The larger priority for me is music (over gaming) and it seems that the bass is practically unaudible on the AD700 from what I've read.

The AD700s are very good, and special for the money and the bass is not inaudible at all. It is just not emphasized. These headphones are great for classical and jazz and really all music. They're just not what you want if you want extra bass. The bass is well defined and articulated, it just isn't thumping.

Save a few dollars,
Get the Panasonic RP-HTF600-S, they have a nice bass.
I prefer the RP-HTF600-S over the ATH-AD700s.
Later on you can add Beyerdynamic EDT 200 Velour ear pads (when there back in stock).
