So did http://www.accessoryave.com/jvchadhead.html work for anyone, or is that a shady place too?

I tried to place an order online and after all info (including cc) was submitted, I was brought to a blank screen with a single line stating that the company was out of business.

FYI: I just called AccessoryAve and got no response by telephone despite their website stating that they were open until 8PM. Also, I'd tried to order these cans from pricesrite.com and just got an email stating that they were unable to complete my order. Here's the message:

"Thank you for shopping with PricesRite. We regret to inform you that we will be unable to process your order due to a backorder in our suppliers inventory for the item you ordered. Your order is now canceled, you may place a new order for any other item on the site and we will credit you for a free upgrade in shipping on us. "

I'm glad some of you guys got usable (sound very good actually) cans out of this deal. Wish it would have worked out for all who ordered. What a crazy ride, eh ?

I got the same message from PricesRite. I also did a search on Yahoo! shopping and couldn't find any hits for the JVC.

Maybe ask JVC to see whether they are really discontinued or they would make new stock if there are orders?

The HA-D990 is surely discontinued - in favor of the HA-DX1 and HA-DX3, which may or may not sound as good as the HA-D990.

According to Yahoo shopping, the ha-3x would run you about $150!

The 'deal' is not quite as attractive as the $16.99 for the HA990! Even if you factor in the cost of about $30 for the replacement pads, that's still only $60. What else can you get for $60? Sony v6? Senn. 280pro?

I have the HA-DX3. While I haven't heard the 900, the DX3 is my favorite closed heaphone (not counting the Ety 4S). It's extremely balanced and smooth, and a great value even at $150. It's also extremely comfortable.

East Coast Digital (actually is a subsection of accessoryave) does NOT have these headphones either. They do still list them at their site, but when I called the company today, was told they are on backorder.

I sold my one spare d990 to a fellow head-fier who has a dt770pro. He is VERY happy with the dt770s. I will be intrested to see what he thinks once he compares them, and all of you probably will too. As you know, I prefer the d990, but the 770pro is a good phone so we will see.

What IS the record for most views of a thread anyway?

Has anyone been successful in getting current info from JVC on these cans?

(Why don't I check these out for myself? I'm damn lazy, that's why)
