^ thumbs up for Seven Samurai. It's funny, I didn't know about it until reading Stephen King's Wolves of Calla which was based on the same story...Saw back-to-back Donnie Yen movies this past weekend on Netflix: Ip Man (9/10) and Flash Point (8/10). Donnie Yen is so bad ass. The last fight scene in Flash Point is incredible.

THIRST 9/10

A very great korean film its one of the best i've seen this year, its more like a romance/ suspense/drama which im not really into those kind of genre but it worked for me, well it starts as a priest all of a sudden became a vampire. Mind you its not one of those vampire films for teens its really different great storyline, cinematography deserves a thumbs up

I hate to admit it, but I actually enjoyed "Grown Ups"! Found a lot of it funny and that's all I was expecting. I don't know if I could consider it a good movie.
A lot of BAD movies I still love. One of those is 'Independence Day"!

I guess i'd give "Grown Ups" a 6.5/10. I skipped in the theater due to poor reviews. I rented it through Red Box and it was worth the $1.

Did you all forgot about this thread?!

Unstoppable - 7.5/10

If you turn off your brain and you don't mind them adding stupid things to build the suspense, this is a good popcorn movie.

I actually suggest skipping it and renting "Runaway Train" on netflix instead. It's a far better movie and you get the bonus of it being in Alaska and starting out with a prison break.

I'd give that a 9/10. Here's the trailer:

"Von Ryan's Express" and "Runaway Train" would be a perfect double feature!

I watched Please Give with Catherine Keener. It is one of those quirky, indie comedies with a heart of gold; kind of like a bagel and coffee. Yeah, you've consumed a billion, but they're always still kind of enjoyable though you can't remember a specific one.. I've never been a big fan of Amanda Peet. However, her role was so perfect here. She was a real highlight. 6/10

Bad weekend so far.

Skyline - 6.75/10  Probably most unexpectedly entertaining movie for me of the bunch.

Unstoppable - 7.25/10  Love the usual Tony Scott Cinematography and decent acting.  Everything else is meh.

Due Date - 6/10

Morning Glory - 6.25/10  Score compensated for Rachel McAdams blatant use as eye candy and multiple panty scenes.  Good lord.  Thank you Canada.

Second time around and again very impressed. One of my favs!

Love that movie. Not sure if you've seen the director's previous film "Amores Perros", but that's another good one, but it's quite sad at times.
His films aren't for everyone though and strangely I hated his latest movie "Babel".

I haven't! I know the title but I always skipped this one for some reason. Will check soon. Loved Babel too btw. Here's the latest latest by the same director that I will try seeing soon: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1164999/

Amores Perros is one of my faves.  Babel is crap.

"The Karate Kid" was better than the original in some ways and worse in others. Still one of my favorite "underdog" stories... 7/10
