Visually the movie was stunning, but the storyline was somewhat unoriginal for me.Considering all the talk, i'm not sure it lives up to the hype.I actually think District 9 was a far more engaging Sci-Fi flick for me.

I just watched True Romance, it was impossibly good. The script was so well written by Quentin Tarantino that he didn't even need to direct or produce it to make it feel like his own film. I think this is easily his best written screenplay.

Alvin and the Chipmunks -The Squeakquall. 2/10. A daming indictment of the ruthlessness of the music industry towards the performers and indemic bullying at high school, spoiled by terrible acting by 6 chipmuncks.

Invictus: 7/10

Some very powerful and touching moments from Morgan Freeman. He really is the star of this film. Rugby was the metaphor for the big idea and that point was well made by the entire writing, directing and Moran Freeman.

Damon has an appalling South African accent!

Most of the rugby was just plain bloddy awful. An insult to the game. They should have used more actual footage from the games. Plus could they have found guys that actually look like real rugby payers and the variation in size???

Of course, as a Kiwi and an ardent All Blacks supporter, I had to endure seeing that bloody loss again!

I saw Up in the Air tonight as well. Like Invictus, it was so capably made I can't fault it much; really top notch popular entertainment. Also, may I say it shoots right to my short list for best date flicks. See it with someone you like to spend time with. 8/10

Avatar 3D: It was a blast. Story wasn't all that but nothing too bad. The 3D worked wonders. 9/10 for the experience and 7.2/10 for the film.

Really stunning visuals, even in a regular theatre. The story was decent, although it was a bit boring in some parts. Still a very solid movie.

Invictus - 8/10
I wasn't expecting to like this movie much, but it held my attention very well throughout the duration of the film. Very good.
