Soo attempt two for atlas wasn’t successful, again the puffin, but found the attempt to synch with jlo and her body armor robot interesting, maybe there’s more to why I can’t stay awake. Ok attempt 3 later

Station Eleven 9/10

Sci-fi post apocalyptic dystopian film where a flu has a 99% fatality rate. Based on a novel of the same name.

The series takes place over multiple time lines following several characters.

A very different type of post apocalyptic series. Not much action or violence, more focused on the the development of communities and relationships.

A bit slow paced, alot of Shakespearean references and the timeline jumps around quite a bit, not on the level of Cloud Atlas but definitely requires attention to keep track. The series is filmed really well and the storyline is well developed.

Really enjoyed this one as its something very different from the mainstream stuff.

Interesting note, this series began production in Jan of 2020 before the pandemic and was about 1/5th completed before they had to shut down, then resumed in Feb 2021.

This is very interesting about the author and how the book was released. The Outsiders is a coming-of-age novel by S.E. Hinton published in 1967 by Viking Press. Hinton started writing the novel when she was 15 and wrote the bulk of it when she was 16 and a junior in high school.[1] Hinton was 18 when the book was published.

Saw this, and thought it was really dull and didn't do the book justice. Really bad choice in the plot for the movie, and feels really detached, and I couldn't get into the movie. Beautifully shot cinematography however. Looks great in UHD. Amazing cast of actors, but feels like a wasted production.

I really like the story, and deserves to be represented much better IMO.

ok attempt three for atlas successful. outside of the cgi and concept of syncing with your own tactical robot, 3.5 out of 5. maybe if recasting hero and villain could have worked for this sappy finish bochery

Two things made me stay away with no interest. Netflix and ancient JLo. Who tf thought Jlo on robot was a good idea?! I will never watch another Netflix film. I have no interest in any of their crappy K-content either. I hate these subscription based content that's just a waste of money. 90% of contents is just a waste of time.

The Gentlemen (TV series) - 8.75/10

I was surprised. I really enjoyed this one and hope to see a season 2 some day!
The only negative is that the last episode wasn't that good. One average episode out of 8 isn't bad.
The whole series is 8 episodes and it was good enough to finish in just 2 days.

Perfect cast too IMO. Love the set designs, cinematography and even the writing was pretty good.
Some of the characters reminded me of those out of a Wes Anderson movie for some reason (but with more realistic acting).

I'm a bit confused though because it's supposed to be funny I think, but it really isn't.
It's mostly just amusing and not LOL funny. I must have a bad sense of humor because I laughed only twice.
If you find it funny, you might even love it more than I did.
Not going to lie, I like Theo James as an actor. He's not in enough movies it seems. He did really well in this one.

PS make sure to not watch the old movie version of this, it's terrible!

I suspect maybe the TV series got poor reviews from critics. Don't care!

Gettysburg. 1993 - 271 minutes (director's cut). 5 Platinum stars for this one!
For me the best US movie in the last 30 years. Maybe cos it's not a Hollywood movie (production). No same boring love stories seen 1000x, no predictable storyline, no all go lucky happy end seen 1 million times, no heroism... It's like a documentary with an endless list of absolute outstanding actors! Especially Stephen Lang, Tom Berenger and Sam Elliott.
I watched it 4x in a row...

godzilla minus one 2023 netflix

had no idea what was going to happen. This backstory prequel has an historic bio vibe that taps into japanese psyche at the time of ww2. some truthful observations that in lieu of reality, self preservation, how cultural norms political populism and nationalism blindly ask common men and woman to sacrifice for the privileged, but i digress. Godzilla steps on humans, villages, cities like the ants we are and his death ray is biblical nuclear explosions. how to defeat this self repairing beast. 4.25 puffs out of 5 and find out.

I watched this last night too. I'd give it a solid 8/10.
One of the few Godzilla movies I've actually liked.
Only negative is the excessive over-acting. It got really annoying.
I liked the end, but that final scene could have been done a little better.
Can't say I was expecting that though.

PS it's too bad we probably won't see a blu-ray of it anytime soon.
I really do kind of wish I had experienced this in the theaters.
I wonder if it ever was played on Imax screens. Would be amazing to see in Imax.
The visual effects were pretty impressive.

On the Basis of Sex - 6.5/10

Biopic movie about Ruth Bader Ginsburg taking on a gender discrimination case at the Supreme Court.
The movie is just so...average. I can't think of anything the film does very well.

Nobody 2022 Netflix

Infamously watched it cold, had a feeling Saul was older and had some double life, but had no idea. Puff away to hutch getting antsy for his domestic life to change and relief in the form of bad ass kicking of mixed Russian youngins on a bus. Well there’s a can of worms worth 4 out of 5 puffs, not for acting chops, but sheer what the…..

Hitman - 7.75/10

Would have been an 9 for sure if it wasn't for the terrible ending (IMO).
It also kind of strange how this is being marketed as a comedy.
I guess maybe it does have a couple funny parts, but that's about it.
I mostly enjoyed this and think most people would like it.

How to Rob a Bank - 9/10

Really good recent Netflix documentary based on true events.
It's about a group of bank robbers that often hit the same banks.
They always wore makeup or had specially designed face masks.

Ashley Madison: Sex, Lies & Scandel - 8.5/10

Another recent documentary from Netflix.
I really had no interest in learning anything about that company, but somehow they made this story fascinating.
It's just really well made and actually entertaining.

Anyway, this "dating" site that allowed married people to cheat got hacked and there was this massive data leak of millions of people. Some of them were celebrities etc.
I was expecting them to find out who did it, but nothing is really resolved. By the end it almost feels like an advertisement!
They viewed bad publicity as good publicity! In this case, it might not be really true.
You know we really must live in a relatively free country if sites like this are allowed to exist.
I imagine there are many countries that would ban such things.
I suspect that the people who hacked it thought it was morally wrong and wanted to take the site down.
