Thank Stv,In another thread other fellows already confirmed the compatibility too, little lucky because it was the only adapter i found yesterday,on the avenue with the more dedicated electric shops of my town.

Matt, does your E9 beat the O2 by both sound quality and powering tests, from your exp?

After a days audition, I have found the following:

1. The o2 is bested by both the Fiio e09 and ld1+.

2. The sound on the o2 becomes somewhat thin and bass looses impact and texture.

3. It had no problem with power and drove my he400, he500 (borrowed) and modded fostex well.

I had high hope for this little amp. Sound stage was similar to the other amps but the treble was also somewhat bright and fatiguing to my ears. I also didn't like the location of the connection on the front of the unit. All of my testing was done with an odac by Audio Poutine. It has RCA jacks on the back of the unit which I like. Not for me...

Two questions:
1) double blind test?
2) did you match the volume between the two amps properly? Even 10 db of difference makes a huge change in sound perception.

Thanks for the feedback.  I've never tried the LD1+, but I liked the O2 more than the E9.  I returned the E9 after a week or so.  I agree with the layout problems, and that's why the O2 I use is in the bigger B3 enclosure with 1/4" jack and volume control mounted on the opposite end.  It makes for a much neater and easier to use package.

I got around to updating the review. I figured out why it sounded a bit dry, because I had switched from comply to silicone tips on the B2s.
I also added impressions with the HD600 and added a bit to the "amplification" section.

i would like to watch your video of O2 powering speakers,do you have some youtube link?
Although i recognize i did a lot (a lot) of research before buy the O2 ,as i do for any overseas product always, your review also was useful to my decision. Now it's just a matter of patience until the package (O2+Odac) reach my home door.

Added :)
I only hooked up 1, but that was more of a space issue than anything. Listening level was about 1:00, clipping started happening around 8 or 9 o'clock.

Hello fellow Washingtonian!

Just a quick question, I am planning on getting the O2+ ODAC combo, does it have an internal battery to charge, or does it need an external power source to take it along?

I plan on using it in my portable rig, so the fewer boxes the better.

Thanks!

Ey, federal way! I'm from walla walla but I'm going up to UW this fall!
You can fit the O2 with 9v rechargeable batteries and charge them with a transformer. You just need to make sure you order both the transformer and batteries.

Interesting, I'm reading  that it requires a USB power source. Maybe you can use 9V batteries in the standalone amp, but that extra board from the DAC section I believe removes that function.

Cheers, cool to hear you're going to UW soon, I'm at Highline CC right now, gonna transfer to UW Tacoma campus within the next year.

Hmm, if you're getting the O2+ODAC combo, then you won't be able to use batteries in the O2, so you will want to get the two as standalone units. The ODAC is indeed USB powered though so you will not need to worry about batteries for it.
