I will definitely be looking forward to your review PJ. Although I remain very interested in Audio-gd products, I confess to still being a a bit dubious about their quality control and related issues. I am also still settling in with my Cullen Stage IV, and so would likely want to do a side-by-side of them myself.

Does anyone have an opinion on a modded DL3 against a Headroom UDAC? I'm upgrading amp & DAC to go with my HD800s, amp-wise thinking of either BUDA or GS-X, maybe balanced b22, but a bit stuck on the DAC. I suspect something not entirely neutral might fit the bill as the HD800s are so revealing & might need an injection of excitement. Cheers.

I finally pulled the trigger on this one (Cullen IV Modded)

. I know the ref1 is getting a lot of love, but at 1650+ shipped and waiting a month+ vs. $1315 shipped (Nice new price) and I'll have it in a week, I had to go DLIII. Plus from every review I've read, it sounds exactly like what I am looking for. I will be able to compare it to my HR Maxxed Desktop. Man, this is going to be a long week!

Just bought my Cullen Mod 3, I'm loving it so far.
I think it's possible that my new ZD #90 isn't even fully burned in yet... so it'll take me a while to really get a good idea of my new rig's 'stock' sound...
Still though, the DLIII is a vast improvement over the 'Zero' I had...

I'd still like to know if there's an audible difference between the mod 3 and mod 4. I'll be using Coax, so the 4th level definitely pertains to me, but I don't want to waste the money if the clock mod is most of the 'bang'.

My two (!) Level 4s are awesome.

Um, maybe it's because the price of the PS Audio unit went down, not the labor and parts to mod it?

I got a deal where the dl3 modded with stage 3 was only 1000+25 shipping which I thought wasn't bad. I was also able to get a deal for the stage 4 mod for 1100+ shipping but decided to go with stage 3 because I didn't really use the coax output. To me that increases the value of this DAC dramatically.

I know. I called him yesterday and may be going down there tomorrow for him to disconnect a switch on my Ref1. But he still hasn't received your clock.
