Only the 1st link works for me.
Instead of the Bing search links, can you please post the YouTube links directly?
To get YouTube links you can search directly in www.YouTube.com bypassing Bing, or right click in Bing on the video title and copy the youtube URL

Nice commentary, KopaneDeJooj,

I have a theory that people's dreams never actually die....they just, over much time, (if not completed) simply turn into warm memories .
Time and Life have a way of taking you away from your dreams, but they can never take the dream from inside you.

So, im going to cheat on this Thread just a little bit, and hopefully all who listen to what im about to post will approve.
What im going to post now, are 2 of my favorite Instrumental Rock guitar albums, created by 2 of my favorite guitar players.
I have a few, and these are 2.
Their music is not really specific to the genre of "Prog", but i think we can all agree that a lot of what most of us enjoy about Prog Rock is the guitar playing.
At least that's how i feel.
So, these are 2 of my favorite guitarist, who make mostly instrumental guitar music, and some of it might be considered... "prog"......:)
And yes, these are for sale...

I dunno man, I'm not really into guitar rock... I mean I don't like instrumental only albums that much. I get bored after 3 songs at max. if it's not Paco de Lucia :)
But that's me, I can understand your passion for instrumental guitar albums.
But I do think you should be more selective when posting this stuff here, a lot of it I find too generic and too much. Why not make a special thread for Guitar Rock?
Of course you're free to post whatever you like, just my thoughts. And this is not in reference to the Guthrie Govan and the other album above which are great for their genre, I agree. But in general...

That’s actually kinda funny as the 1 link you can open is the “only” instrumental track I posted. I’m not that into guitar rock all the time either but some of the posts I’ve done happen to be just that. I’m new to the thread so if everyone opposes to this type of music, which is progressive without vocals, there’s a million other tracks I can post so no biggie.
When I get time today I’ll respsost all the other links that open correctly and you’ll see there’s nothing “guitar rock” :)

Just out of curiosity, I’d be interested in everyone’s take on what’s progressive rock and what isn’t. There’s so many sub genres of progressive that it’ll make your head spin.
Today’s music is so different then the old progressive days when it was genesis, yes, gentle giant, Steve Wilson, etc.
Music has evolved and has headed in other directions for Progressive rock.
Just curious, that’s all!

What you should do, is what i do.
Dont listen to what you dont enjoy.
Just skip my posts, if they are not giving you a thrill ride.
Like changing a channel.
Dont listen to what you dont enjoy.
No reason to.,,
This is what i often do on the Classical Music Threads, or some of the posts i see, even on this thread, i just skip.
Everyone does this, im sure.
Also,
Not everything is going to fit your ear, and i myself dont listen to all the albums i post.... from beginning to end....i listen to some of it.
And if the playing and the song craft meets a certain standard to my ear, then i post.
You'd be surprised to learn about how much music i hear, that i dont post on this site.
I post about 10% of what i discover and listen to, on this Forum.
Maybe less.
I mostly post for the benefit of people who are really on this prog thread because they are really into Prog, or, they are really interested in something new to hear, and who want to buy this stuff.
I wish that every album, both instrumental or otherwise, were filled with great songs, but that is not the case.
And often, these bands i post are a bit obscure, and dont have "singles" out, or even albums available outside their country, so, they post their entire album as the only means you can get it, so, i post it, as they do.
Full Album version.
So, pick and choose, dive in and out........ have fun.

Man, I was not referring to you :) Look at my original post, I quoted FullBright1 and I was (openly) talking to him in relation to his post, and his trend in posting too much generic guitar rock IMO.

FullBright, be bright! :)
The problem with the world we're living in, is that there's too much white noise. Everywhere. We're flooded.
In order for me to know if I like or not what you're posting, I have to start and listen to every video that you're posting. That takes TIME. Valuable time.
So the better thing for you to do, instead of telling me "to skip", would be to take a little responsabillity because you're interacting with a community, and ask yourself: "By posting this video am I bringing something valuable to this community?", or I'm just increasing the white noise?
Is it something valuable enough, or is just "my thing" for the past 5 minutes?
"10% of what you discover" - as you said - is 70% of what's posted here lately. Count your posted videos from the day you came here, in relation to the others.
Not every Japanese girlie that can hold a guitar and has an odd time signature brings value to this world. I agree, prog rock as a genre is extensible and debatable, but still...
Again, just my thoughts, I have the right to express them, no offense, although you already took it :), do what you like. But maybe... make that "Guitar Rock" thread.

Man, I'm in a PROG ROCK thread inside a website dealing with Hi-Fi. Of course I'm old too!!! Everybody's old here, even a 20yr old coming here, he's old! automatically!
As for the "she" part... don't believe everything that you see online. He's in this thread too! Can't be a she. Nope. No way.

Clicking on the Spotify logo to the right of the embedded playlist opens Spotify and the playlist.
If I post the URL, it is auto transformed by head-fi into the embedded playlist.
Here is the playlist without http://
open.spotify.com/user/223m2v33ziwglrolzahssqkra/playlist/22PrAJTjSuXwiF53a9CUoq?si=f_jh7leISC2M2jDCOb5THQ
Or search for "head-fi carefree rock"

I really enjoyed that playlist... multiple times! Makes me realize I need to listen to more Flower Kings, Big Big Train, Moon Safari and yes, Haken!

Great! :) If you find something that you think fits in with the mood of the list, please add it there.
