Contrary to what people keep saying, the velour pads on the HE-500 sound much better than the Leatherette pads! (Finally managed to switch them) They really mellow out the sound and make everything more lush.

The objectivity thing sounds like my main issue with the Science Fiction (L. Ron Hubbard) Forum.
Audio seems to be the only Engineering discipline where you only design and quailify via calculations and lab measurements.
The assumption is that humans never listen to or touch the final product.
The guy who designed the LS3/A was part engineer, part artist.
