Ouch...looks like a very nice printer for sure but I'm definitely looking for a <$1200 solution....lol...now maybe if I was showing/selling more stuff than I plan on it would be worth the price for me. But like I said, right now I'm looking more towards a couple local gallery hangings, maybe a judged hanging once in awhile and perhaps selling if someone is interested but not really actively selling.
The Epson R3000 is about half the price, and uses the same inks (albeit in smaller cartridges). If you don't need to do larger prints (the R3000 only does up to 13" wide) - then it should fit the bill.
There are other options from Canon and HP, and some lower tier ones from Epson but I have not used them personally - and cannot vouch for fade resistance or image quality.

Thanks. That's more in line with my budget. 13" wide isn't a problem. I generally have my stuff printed 8x12 so if I ever need to have something done beyond 13" I can have a lab do it. I also like that the R3000 works with roll paper. $250 rebate doesn't hurt either...lol
both of these could really use some luminance control to direct attention to the subject. the first one with a controlled flash or even simply a dodge in post production.
the 2nd one with not only a light, but a tilt-shift to steer the plane of focus from left edge foreground to right background to steer attention away from branches that are especially distracting

Thanks, but they came out just how I envisioned them when I took the shot. The one with the tree branch is for some foreground, which is why it's OOF. I also took less moody photos during the shoot, but these were specifically PP'ed to look this way.
The one with the branch was a play on this one that I took before
