I'm a sucker for panoramas, and this one is indeed very well done. My only question concerns your execution: How did you manage to take separate shots without showing any evidence of movement by the bystanders there?

And just think, that was around 2:45 on Friday

They did the building on Friday, then they were viewing on the weekend. Unfortunately I was busy and didn't get to see the finished products, though there are other people's pictures on flickr of course.

I was more interested in the building anyway.

There is actually, if you look at the larger version. I used autostitch to stitch the images, which, when in blends, creates ghost images of the people that move. I like the way it does this, because it can actually give the impression of movement if they don't move very far (the guy to the right of front/center in the black shirt standing with the cart, for example), or otherwise is so faint it doesn't usually distract from the image. If there's a particularly bad ghost, I will try to crop it out of the original before stitching.

By comparison, photoshop doing the same stitch with photomerge makes the same guy I mentioned have three legs and two heads, and generally doesn't line up as well.

The amount of ghosting depends on how many exposures you take and how much overlap there is. This one was 7 portrait exposures, zoomed as wide as my G9 will go (35mm equiv).
