I can look at that picture, and just hear the rocks crunching under my boots, and maybe a bit of wind, with absolutely no other sound whatsoever. Just being there alone, with a pack and some books, no timetable, no connection to the outside world.....perfection.

Rocks and marmots wouldn't bother me so much, but I think I'd make it a fall trip to try and cut down on the bugs some more. I much prefer cold-weather hiking and camping, to warm/hot weather stuff.

Thanks guys!! The first shot is my fave as well. Quite pleased with the overall because it's the first time i'm using an external flash.

Wil, excellent picture. I love the composition and the colors. Great pic. Definitely better than the first batch IMO, the apple is sharper, there is more detail in the water and the apple.
