I've never tried a Sony XB outside of a short audition, but I did own the PRO-900 and agree that their treble sounds overtly metallic.  The V4 smokes them in every way.

Dependent on one's needs, I'd have to agree.  The V4 is an excellent headphone for those seeking bass thrills... possibly the best.

From memory yes, it isolates extremely well.  Then again, both my Darth and V4 were outfitted with leather pads.

There's some sub $500 headphones I want to try, like the D5000, HE-400, Mad Dog and HD650 but I have to say I do think these V4's sound excellent. I know I ranked the LCD-2 higher on my list in the other thread but I can only go by memory because I don't have both to A-B them but to be fair the V4 is a modified $150-$200 headphone and the LCD-2 is a $1,000 headphone.

To anyone who owns darth beyers, will an iphone and a fiio e11 drive them well, or will I not be getting what I paid for? At home I will be using a proper setup, but I plan on using them as a portable headphone. I won't be walking around with them, but Iplan on using them at planes and places I go. The dt770 pro 80 ohm works just fine out of an iphone and a fiio e11, so I'm suspecting the darth beyer to work fine as well.

Looks like mine just shipped out, yeah buddy!  They're made from an absolutely beautiful piece of Koa.  The earcups are shaped like the Trackers, but they have all the fixings of the V4's with BlackGold cables.
