For me, connected to an E5 (for the bassboost, doesn't have enough bass to me though people say it has a lot) clipped right on my left side pants pocket, the cord will go down to about my mid thigh. ~5'9" tall. The coiled part itself doesn't start until like 3 feet down or something. Maybe a bit more.
I'm 5'6. I'm guessing that'd mean the cord would be at my knees. That's a bit too long for me, my dog might get ideas about chewing/pulling it if it's too low.
I tried braiding the cord of my old HFI-780s and it went better than expected, so I think I might just stick with braiding.
take a look at the M50 thread, some people have figured out a technique to actually braid the wire thus making it shorter, theres a few links in there on how to do it - and it looks pretty awesome in their pics too
Awesome! Just found a way to make my 32ohm DT 990s more portable! These are my new favs for un-amplified but the long cord has been a killer.
Any suggestions out there for a comprable set that has a standard detachable 3.5 mm? (don't want prioriatary cables)
We all know how 'great' the beats all sound according to head-fi community, but that is one thing they have going for them in my opinion... unfortunatelyit seems that the best cable length for a pair of beats is ... none
thanks! From the list, I'm leaning towards the Ultrasone's... not sure which one yet 2900 or 900.
Would you recommend some of the less expensive ones from the Ultrasone Pro line? I wouldn't mind splitting up my budget and getting a new pair of earphones
