I don't know how good current ipods sound anyway.  With the shift away from the wolfson to cirrus logic dacs, some say the sound is not as good as it used to be.  But I still have no idea if the S9 is supposed to be really good or not.

Thanks for mentioning the cypher labs solo, I never knew this product existed but it sounds very interesting.

Now i have two options, that I can make : 1. sell cowon, buy hifiman (601 or 602, depends on how much money i´ll have) and buy pico and connect it via line out 2. buy hifiman hm-801 and nothing else (my friend heard it, and said, that it is sounding even better than Benchmark  DAC)

Using the Cowon S9's headphone out should work fine. There are plenty of other head-fi'ers that do the same.

Is the hm-801 supposed to be better sounding than the hm-601?  If not, maybe the hm601 is a good choice to start, and you can add an amp later if you think you'll need it.

When I listened to them, I thought the HM-801 was clearly better. That doesn't mean the HM-601 is bad; the HM-601 is still better than the vast majority of DAPs.

I was thinking all night, and my final decision is, that i will buy most probably Colorfly C4, because i can buy it from Deutschland, which is nearer to me, and because of design, which i  actually fell in love with :D...I read many things about that hifiman 801 is better, but i´ll not use it as anything else except portable player and i don´t like very dark sound, which hifiman should have  :)
