sup guys. ive done sum reading on here and have these two headsets in mind. i started to make a post and found the poll feature so could you guys just anwser the poll please.  thnx.

I wonder how many people who will vote have heard both. I voted for the AD700 and have compared both side by side.  The AD700 has more detail and clarity, better separation and soundstage, and fast and tight bass (instead of the slow wooly bass of the HD555). They are also more fun and energetic sounding and are more comfortable imo.

Ad700's hands down. 
They have tighter and more accurate bass than the Hd555's.

Heard them both when I had AD700. Actually didn't like the HD555 at all.

ad700 are way more high end than hd555. ad700 actually does high-ends well and has a distinct approach to low end, the soundstage is amazing. HD555 is just a jack of all trades and doesn't really have a stand out feature that's worth buying.

It's always good to have a contrary view. I thought the AD700 sounded like a $50 phone from K-Mart---coarse, over-bright, generally very unrefined-sounding and certainly a long, long way from "high end". The 555 on the other hand is beautifully balanced and without serious fault, and gives a goodly taste of the higher Senns. I listen to orchestral/classical music.

I agree. . .although I have a pair of AD700's on the way just to settle my mind once and for all while I send my HD555's in for RMA.

I think they are about the same level, and depending on priorities one may prefer one over the other. Personally I would take the HD5x5 (I've decided to consider the 555 and 595 to be the same headphone due to the foam mod)  because the AD700 are far too bass shy, and preferred the 5x5 mids.

Blitzkrieg your avatar scares the hell out of me. Anyway though, AD700 150% x500 +99. Always always always AD700 > HD555 in my personal opinion. ESPECIALLY for gaming.

The bass on the Ad700's is clear and tight but not really boomy. Still i love the sound.
