I have been running my PA v.2 from my iPod line out to my Sony MDR-V700's. The sound difference is incredible compared from directly out from the iPod. The bass is so solid and the mids have more punch. Even with the E3C's the sound is solid and nice. Not a bad investment for $60~.

Just want to ask around if the PA2V2 would improve my Eggos in the bass department. Also, is the ER6is a good mate to it? Meaning, will it increase the bass, since ER-6is are known to have a bit less bass than the E2Cs, which I have right now.

I can't speak about the Eggos, but IMO the PA2V2 is an excellent amp to pair up with the ER6i. I used this combo with my Zen Micro and it definitely improves the bottom end and midrange of the Etys.

Ordered mine on the 9th and got it on the 26th... slow shipping but it was out of Garys hands. We figure it was U.S Customs that held it for awhile, thought it was a bomb or soemthing.

For the price you can't go wrong. Drives my power hungary 120 ohm hd590's very well, and my

trifarts.

The only drawback is the low volume crackle that went away the first time I used it, but now seems to never go away. There is also hiss if you turn the amp up at a high volume... other than that, you cant go wrong.

I noticed a lot of shure owners posted positive remarks for this little amp. Do you bassheads think that a E5c will benefit from this amp or is it more appropriate for the E4/3/2 series which are less bass heavy?

Just got mine. Already I can tell a difference with my minidisc recordings of my vinyl collection. Warm and feel-good sound. And, that's just with my Portapros. Major improvement over the headphone out of the minidisc. Looking forward to using it with my other portables and headphones (E6 and HD580).

The "scratchiness" goes away if you use rechargable batteries instead of the power supply or regular batteries.

Virtually all phones benefit from PA2V2 out of iPod. My E5s realize a great deal more of their potential when plugged in via ram din through PA2V2. Much clearer, bass cleaner with no distortion (which I unfortunately now can clearly hear out of headphone out).

For $60 it's a no-brainer, providing you can stand the geek effect of the extra gear on the belt or whatever. I'll be getting the Hornet when it comes out, but I'm really not so sure I'll be hearing a $200 + difference.

Clearly there's a $60 difference, though, from iPod's headphone out to line-out -> PA2V2 combo.

thanks vranswer,

I just ordered one from Gary, should be here in 5 -10 business days!!! Sounds like the amp will give my E5c's a boost, and I'll get the most out of them, not a bad way to spend $60. On top of that, Gary is a really nice guy who is lightening fast with emails and very professional.

Can't wait to get my PAv2

Just be prepared to have a little extra patience with the shipping. The shipping estimate doesn't include customs hang-ups. Hopefully you won't have any, but mine took a month to get here. Rest assured it's coming, Gary is awesome.

Yeah, I think it's essentially hit and miss with customs. I've seen many reports of receiving the shipment within the ten days like you, and there have also been some who've had to wait quite a while. It's a good product, worth the wait IMO.
