I'm curious about this player, specifically about it being quiet and hamstrung by the volume cap. Are we talking about a problem with full size cans being driven or is this somehting that obvious with IEMs as well. I mostly use IEMs (Cosmic ears CE6). Also can this thing be used as a USB Dac with a computer?

I like this player a lot. It sounds great with my items (S-em9) a really well balanced sound.  The big storage capacity and ability to use streamers works for me.  I have finally found a cable that hooks it up ok to my Mojo for when I need extra power to drive full size cans - the DT1770s are not driven well by it.  But as a standalone and for items and easier to drive headphones it is great.

One thing I found with Pioneer and Onkyo is that if you do not have the device in standalone mode, IEM's like Campfire or W60 for example will exhibit a lot of hiss, crackling this is interesting to hear compared with the LG V10 that with all "radios" on do not have this situation
I am assuming the position of the headphone jack is critical and the main difference

I checked the site and I had the latest version.

I am experiencing some jumps or skips when playing Tidal offline

The songs are on the SD card (it's a SanDisk 128GB)

I tried Spotify offline and did not have an issue

This occurs when I am Walking and my phone is in close proximity to the player

So I am not sure if it's a card issue, tidal or interference from the phone

Any thoughts?
