Well, it’s crowdfunded. I mean sure there are enough people at exactly this point in time that have IPods that are giving up the ghost due to battery issues. So? Maybe they will transfer over? Still it has a software that is yet to be proven. I don’t know if you remember back in 2013 there was all kinds of players that never ever get talked about anymore? Many had issues with the operation due to bugs in playback. The interfaces were slow and difficult to use.....pages and pages of complaints? Then around 2016 we had more choices other than the IPod for usability and success in tone.
In 2005 all the way to today we had different options other than ipods. Heck for a lot of the time I had alternative players like the creative zen vision m, Dell digital jukebox, Microsoft zune, many fiio players over the years, pioneer players, onkyo players and of course many ipods. ITunes always sucked and there were always better options out there.

exactly...I had a Creative Nomad Zen xtra with 40 GB back in 2000...and I still have one. Yep, and that player came out before iPod. Same with many J-River players (the predecessor to Astell and Kern)...

Dead cheap. Good price to performance, if you have a use case. Built sturdy, and it's satisfying to hold. It's silent enough... a lot quieter than the pathetic SMSL SAP-11. But your sensitive stuff will definitely hear a distant susurration.

You can roll the op amps at input and output. I've got an LM4562 at input and an OPA2134 at output. Two LM4562's also work for a more 'traditional' performance. Rolling gets the amp to where you want it. You can get the sound pretty clear and tight and detailed. It will never be transparent, but its own sound can be improved. Mine sounds clean and clear, punchy and warm. Feeding an OPA2134 with an LM4562 is always a good idea :)

Not your regular post: I just flew into Tokyo today with my WM1Z and IER-Z1R, but forgot to take a pair of iems for the 10 and a half hours of inflight entertainment so had to use the supplied buds. I know they are cheap and was not expecting anything better, but they were so bad it has made me so grateful to own even the BLON-03. With my now detuned ears anything I demo here will sound awesome.
I was wondering if a cable swap and some tip rolling might turn them into keepers 🤣

Looks great, what is the device connected to M2?
That’s Hiby M300, running some “handmade” tuning and filters from @Joe Bloggs . These upgrades made a huge difference when running on its own.
