Hi,
how do they compare to other headphones you've tried? Have you compared them to HD25's or AiAiAi TMA2?
Stuck between choosing between these 3 basically.

I love my SMB-02, especially the bass, but the comfort is just terrible. Their size is something between on-ear and over-ear and that.. I guess just doesn't work for me.
No problem here, fit is good. Do you have particular large ears?
I also love mine SMB-02s. Plain look, great sound.

Maybe this is helpful, somewhere in the middle of the review he compared them precisely those. The 4000er use the same drivers and sound similar to the SMB-02.

I know what you mean in terms of comfort, takes frequent readjustment to keep it comfortable. Have you considered the leather pads?

I'm going to order some and try, but not yet. Well, I guess they won't be as comfortable as bigger headphones anyway.

Looks like the SMB2 dips a good 25db @ 5000Hz, going back to -10db at 10KHz, then dropping gradually to -30db at 20KHz. AFAIK your Stax might only drop 15db around 15KHz.
How are kicks & snares comparing for instance ?

All that I've read about these makes these sound like a Supreme version of the 7506.
Possibly like a 7520, which I would like to know how they match up.
From the sounds of it the Phonon can easily chill with the mt220, 7520, dt150/250 bang for buck club.
but i would love someone who has experience to give details as well we can't buy them all and test
Hi Phonon fans,
Any love out there for the Phonon 4000 on-ear version?
I've got mine on now, with the leather pad upgrades, out of my Chord Mojo and they sound just awesome, playing Fatima Yamaha.

Phonon smb02 with zmf ori pads. Really comfortable but the fit is pretty loose. The cups will rotate if your not wearing them.
