....Wait ... wait... sometimes, I thought I was listening to PFEs, .... but, ... nope, it just my UM3Xs. My brain tricked/EQing/tuned it up to sound like PFEs

Still 2 weeks more to go....

Thank you for reading this 'nonsense'

I've been waiting for the new design before sending my cracked pair back - now they deny there is a new design? Ugh...

That speaker cone mod sounds very interesting.

When did that happen? I recently pasted the post by Mr. Browne (sp?) that said as much. Maybe he was talking out of school, which kinda stinks.

I've also tried this with both the black and the grey filters, and prefer it "nude".

It IS a reversible mod if you use say Liquid Skin as the adhesive, and Goo Gone afterward to remove the adhesive if you aren't pleased with the results. Howver odds are you will really dig it. I plan on repeating the mod with images in the next few weeks as I will be doing a pair of JVC HA-FX300 for a friend of mine...

Thanks for the link that looks interesting... i realize i'm not so good at English so maybe i'll wait for the pictures

I'm still looking for a fullsize equivalent to the PFEs, my AD900s are definitely too bright... i don't think the PFEs' treble is very forward, i think it's really at the same level as the mids and bass... what do you think about that guys?
Now i'm looking at studio headphones such as Sony CD900ST. I heard it has a rolled off treble but i don't think anymore this can be a real problem. Maybe i'm wrong.

Is there a new model coming out that addresses the cable cracking issue? I've been using mine for around 2-3 months now and the cables feel like they'll crack if I bend them the other way. The left earphone cracked in less than a month, and I haven't returned mine because I was under the impression that a more durable model was in the making.

End of June is unlikely. Based on the information I have received, it won't be out till the end of August.

I really like my PFEs, but like many others ran into some durability issues. Mine problem was near the 3.5mm plug though. The wire casing came loose, exposing the wires. It actually worked fine still, but I emailed Audeo asking them for a replacement. I hadn't heard anything from them and was beginning to question their customer service. I found a package today from them. Inside was a new pair of PFEs and a prepaid FedEx label. I was glad that I got a new pair, but found it a little odd that I didn't hear anything from them before hand.

I remember reading something about a new batch of PFEs with a revised design. Anyone know if this is still in the works. The PFEs I received were dated before the ones I already owned, so I figure I'm going to run into the same problem.

So I've run in to some cable cracking issues with mine. There's a small crack on the left side's cable that doesn't actually affect the sound at all, but it kinda bothers me. I've covered it up with electrician's tape for the time being, but I'm not really using my PFE's right now (don't have much use for them during the summer, just use my AD700s at home).

If I were to get to the point where I wanted to send them in, would this be covered under warranty? (I'm sure this has been answered somewhere else, I apologize for not reading the rest of the thread or anything)
