How many faithful years did 112 serve you?
Mine still going fine, but I used it lot less compared to 232

very surprised to know driver's are available, can you please pass on the link.
4 years I think, still my favorite IEM. Yeah I just looking up the driver few days ago on aliexpress after mine failed and I found it, I think the driver is sonion 2354.

I have just discovered that my PFE 232s have cracked around the earphones and cabling. They have been safely stored in a hard case in a drawer in my climate controlled home. I purchased the 232s in 2014 when Phonak were liquidating them. I don't use earphones/headphones much these days because I work from home, but this is a major bummer. Can anyone recommend a suitable replacement for the 232's? Thank you!

The great thing about the Phonaks was their speed and overall transparency. I would say planar iems would be a logical step up now that they have become affordable. Take a look at something like the 7hz timeless, I think you'll be amazed.

Thanks for replying. I'll definitely check out the Planar IEMs.
I primarily listen to 80s guitar driven rock. Prince/Van Halen/Journey/Toto etc.
Could you please recommend over the ear portable headphones that would fit my needs?
I would like to give traditional headphones another chance. I feel that many years of using IEMs has damaged my hearing.

Thank you again!

For headphones, you might want to check out the Hifiman Edition XS for about $499. I still own the PFE232 but it is no compare to the awesome sound of the Edition XS.

The Hifiman Edition XS is out of my budget. In all of 2022, I have spent around 6 hours listening to music/podcasts with earphones. When I return to the office, whenever that may be, I would like to invest in a portable, comfortable, headphone solution.

Don’t use the phonak 232 much since I upgraded to better iems. Used mostly for when walking hiking etc I had mine recabled to 4.4 the custom cable connection was their weak spot.

Hard to believe there over 10 years old and people are still talking about the phonak Brand.

I did not get many IEM’s last decade, was mostly interested in fullsize headphones. Only Z1R which I got last year was added into my collection.

PFE-232 was catching dust till I got Hugo 2, now I use them very often, sounds more 3D with Hugo 2.

i noticed after picking up my pfe 022 with gray filters there seems to some distortion in the left ear in the midrange especially obvious when listening to dialogue. i swapped out different yips and different gray black or green filters. i seesm the green and the black filters hide this. anyone notice this?

Courtesy of ItsFit Labs I have immortalised PFE 232 and 022 in custom form. They even accommodated filter. I'm truly speechless.

Wow, they look amazing.

What was the cost?
New housing changes the SQ?

It was $700 for 3 pairs as I got AKG n40 done too and some premium faceplates. 232 sounds identical but 022 has elevated bass to a degree I don't use any filter
