still on the road with the laptop. today i tested a shtton of philips cans: Uptown, Downtown, Shibuya and then the nicer stuff: L1, M1, X1 ( ah 2 days ago the iem St. Germain.) did not like the first 3 much, found them inferior to my old shennhenseirs , ( did i mention i think the 8000 are better than any shenn i have?) crappy cable was the deal-breaker. the rest: m1 > ok with my phone,comfy, bad price, x1 > super bloated bass, (tablet) finally ended up getting the L1, with a proper fit (the numbers, didnt notice that) the most balanced and better option ( yes warm, so what). now regarding my beloved and cheap 8000. I STILL THINK THEY HAVE ____ insert hyperbole___ SOUND,FOR THE PRICE . (lol) PIC

The big T here was clearing out uptowns for 25.99, are they worth it.
 
Still warming up to the 8000's and warm is how I would describe them. Wide staging though. These things are absolutely KFA with classical music.
 
Has anyone tried the 9000's?

Just as well. I have a hankering for trying out the 9000's. They take up less shelf space too

 
Oh in case anyone is interested, I picked up some Rubbermaid pill containers the other day. If you two finger wind the Phillips they fit perfectly and these cases are strong enough to withstand an accidental sit down.

Just to reiterate - the 3590 is the same sound as the 3580? A seller on ebay has the 3590 in black for $8.50 with free shipping - might be nice to have a backup pair.

Yes.
 
Not to scare you but I picked up a second pair of 3590's today myself. As mentioned previously the ones I bought at target I had to wear upside down. These actually fit properly in the right orientation. So far both the 8000's and 3590's I bought at target were defective or perhaps even knock offs, if there is such a thing.
 
 I certainly will not be going back to Target.

I aint no audiophile, and they sound as good as my old MS1i's......
Bass is more pronounced thou...deeper..more sustained...

i find the complys (i bought the ts400s) are pretty bad at isolation.
i find that they are only slight better than the stock tips, and i feel that they sacrifice too much of the sparkle.
so, i decored them and put them inside the stock tips: great isolation and great sound imo

The supplied stock tips are actually very good.
 
But memory foam tips do help a little to tame the microphonics.
Complys are obviously the known brand but memory foam tips can be found on eBay -
search "memory foam earphone tips" - Kiwi - seller KiwiSpace has 3 pairs for under $4 delivered -

 
these fit and work well.
 
Many have said the microphone version of the SHE3580 are the SHE3575 -
the 3575 can be found on Amazon for as low as $4 delivered brand new in blue......

I got admit these are the best sounding IEM's i have ever heard for the price range. The bass on them is really punchy & deep, similar sounding to the FX1X and overall the sound quality is great. Although you might have a problem if you have big ear canals because its hard to get a snug fit with the supplied ear tips.

Ya want bass, try the SHE9000. It will pulp your grey matter with low end
