@ss2625: no, I don't have any rockboxed players.  How many bands is its parametric EQ?

the simple eq has 10 bands, and the sam frequencies as your poweramp, but the graphical eq has peaks etc that i dont know how to read :p

on the first page with the poweramp eq, is that lower dotted line -12 or -10db? and the bass and treble knobs, what do they mean? (not moved or -x db?)

I posted different electri q settings in the thread, which one are you using? I can convert it to rockbox format for you

im using the one you posted at the end of your first post:

Here's the EQ settings I made for Electri-Q for download (you'd need to tweak it to fit your own ear canal resonances even if you have the same phones):

if you could do that, that would be wonderful!!

Transcribing the Electri-Q settings:
Low shelf filter, cutoff at 276Hz, -8.2dB, BW=2
Peak filters:
1. center at 650Hz, +1.5dB, BW=2
2. center at 1398Hz, +0.6dB, BW=1
3. center at 2532Hz, -2.7dB, BW=1
4. center at 2950Hz, -5.6dB, BW=0.5
5. center at 5300Hz, -10.1dB, BW=0.4
6. center at 8000Hz, -13dB, BW=0.3
7. center at 10090Hz, -3.3dB, BW=0.4
8. center at 11700Hz, -3.3dB, BW=0.2

(nonstandard filter) Butterworth highshelf, cutoff at 11700Hz, -5.2dB, BW=1

To convert into a format usable by rockbox, round frequencies to nearest 10Hz and convert bandwidth into Q factor using this online calculator:
http://www.sengpielaudio.com/calculator-bandwidth.htm

Rockbox settings:
Low shelf, cutoff at 280Hz, -8.2dB, Q=0.67
Peak filters:
650Hz +1.5dB Q=0.67
1400Hz +0.6dB Q=1.41
2530Hz -2.7dB Q=1.41
2950Hz -5.6dB Q=2.87
5300Hz -10.1dB Q=3.6
8000Hz -13dB Q=4.8
10090Hz -3.3dB Q=3.6
11700Hz -3.3dB Q=7.2
High shelf, cutoff=11700Hz, Q=1.41

I haven't tried this myself on rockbox so tell me if this sounds correct or are my calculations full of it

Hi,

I bought the Philips SHE3590  for $7 (clearance item) in Sears.
I plugged it into my Sansa Clip+ but the sound ain't no good as of yet.
Both the SHE3590 and the Clip+ need some burn-in time.
I haven't used my new Clip+ for more than 20 hours as of yet.
What is the burn-in time for the SHE3590  and/or Sansa Clip+???
Is it  at least 50 hours?

Thanx.

I posted this in the IEM/Deals Thread, but thought it was worth posting in here.

I was shopping at my local Target today and noticed that the Philips SHE3580 are on the discount electronics rack for $4.64.

No way to buy online.  Instore only.  The Highland Park, IL store had a few in different colors.  I picked up a black pair.
