Hey fellas, so I bought my x2 about 3 week's ago based on so many reviews, thus far I like them, not to go mad about them, but a nice pair of headphones. My big disadvantage is that I don't own an amp or dac and I am waiting for you guys to help me with this. I previously owned an bluetooth creative hitz headphones and man those sounded amazing from my HTC m8, for the price and portability, the fact that I could use them watching movies at night with no wires was a bliss, and the bass, no words, I had a parrot-zik 2.0 and beaten them by far at all categories. Now I only need an opinion on what head amp/dac under 200e could I buy to drive them out of the ordinary, my computer sound card is crap, my m8 phone does magic compared to that but it is still not enough, I am starting to miss my creative, please help me with amp or dac for better sound, I am not impressed and thinking of returning them

What is anyone buying for a shorter (approximately 4 foot) cable? This one on Amazon.com looks popular.

I like my FiiO X3 2nd gen. Could look into that if you are looking for portability or the FiiO X1 for half the cost.

https://www.jdslabs.com/products/35/objective2-headphone-amplifier/

It's absolutely ruler flat, meaning zero coloration of your signal, and this thing will drive damn near anything on the market without breaking a sweat. The Objective 2 is a marvel and the price cannot be beaten for its performance.

Thanks for the link.  Can't forget monoprice, I have purchased may items from them in the past.  Searching this thread the following is also mentioned.  Any experience with it anyone?

According to a review the specs on the Zeskit 4 ft cable are:  "Zeskit had lower balanced resistance. The 4foot cable was 0.4ohms, 0.2ohms, 0.1 ohms from tip to ground."

The O2 works great with my fidelio X1s (with Soundblaster Titanium HD as dac) so it would also be with the X2s. But it is only an amp so a decent dac is also needed. As Snoe said the soundcard of is PC is crap so he would probably only get louder crap out of it with an O2.

So a dac/amp combo would be recomended. I have made good experiences with the FiiO e18 Kunlun. I use it on my Galaxy S5, Galaxy Tab 3 and Laptop. It sounds great and is plug and play on each device. No driver or additional software needed. Can cause problems with EMI pickup if strapped directly to the phone with the rubber straps though.
Teak HA-P50 or Soundblaster e1/e3/e5 could be worth a closer look also. The e1 is really cheap, the e3 and the e5 have bluetooth.

Edit: Typo

Thank you for the feedback, I am still searching and exploring alternatives.
I was also looking at smsl m2, has anyone experienced with that gadget? I saw an review on yt, and it almost, just almost convinced me first of all because at that price it can't be a waste, from what I read looks pretty tempting, still waiting for feedbacks.
Also was thinking of buying the Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi HD USB as an amp and than the m2, ops?
Thanks again guys

This would be somewhat over 200 Euros. But if you are looking for O2/ODAC in Europe, you should go here:

I have the analog version (without ODAC). Very well build and much nicer than the ones from JDSLabs IMO.

Did I understand this correct: You are thinking of getting them both, one as dac, the other one as amp? This would make not much sence as they are both dac/amp combos, one of them would be enough.
You will need a powered usb hub for either one if you want to use them one your phone because the usb port of the phone will not deliver enough power.

Welcome to the forum. It depends on if you want a portable rig or desktop setup.I have a desktop setup consisting on a Bravo Audio Ocean tube amp $130 and a Schiit Modi Dac, $80 used and it sounds awesome and gets loud.FiiO gets a lot of airtime on this website although I have not heard it,but would be an excellent portable rig for under $200.
The difference in sound quality will be fairly dramatic. The Fidelio's to me need some burn in time -about 50 hours or so.
If you purchase a nice setup and give it a little time you will find that you will never go back to what you are used to listening too and will start saving up for the next piece of equipment-it's quite addictive.
Good Luck
.
