I've just ordered these to replace my HD800s! I think I've finally lost it! My HD600s have been getting more headtime recently because the 800s are just not hitting the spot anymore . From everything I've read the X2 sounds like it's the exact sound I want from an open backed dynamic so assuming I like the sound then the HD800s are being sold . I absolutely love the HD600 so that stays no matter what , but from reading this thread I don't think they will be getting much headtime once the X2 arrives. Will post my impressions when they arrive from Amazon.

Benchmark dac1 / O2 . Depends which room I want to listen in. I previously had HDVD800 but prefer dac1.

Amazon is out of stock here in the US. Amazon has a much better price if you can wait for them to re-stock.

You can check out Amazon.italy. I found buying from Amazon in the euro zone much cheaper than from Amazon US

You should try at least, it shows shipment costs before buying. Amazon.it is amazing, I buy lots of stuff from there. Io amo l'Italia.

Can anyone recommend some music (songs preferably, any genre is cool) that they absolutely love listening on their X2, perhaps something that didn't sound so fun on the previous HPs?
 
I myself can't stop listening to Haywyre's Two Fold Pt.1 EP, everything sounds so god damn neat and on point. Especially "The Schism" and "Time". So much better than on my old DT 990 Pros. Oh yeah, and anything by Wave Racer.
