It's entirely possible! Too many variables right now: 1) I'm building a second setup with a new amp and new tubes; 2) Listening fatigue; 3) Purposeful choice of material I know will sound bad. I basically don't want to believe in burn in, but it seems that every time I change on cap on anything I mod, the sound changes over time with most changes in 24 hours and things stabilizing in 2-3 months.

Will do. The PWD already sounds 4-5 times better than the γ2. Be prepared to upgrade your amp. I've found my Melos, which is no slouch in the resolution department, not resolving enough for the PWD. After I listen some more, I'll offer up more specific details on the differences between them. BTW, just to give you a frame of reference: I'm running my γ2 with the cheap wall-wart (but my electricity is clean since I live in the boonies). The output caps are standard blackgates (yuck) with film bypass. I've been too lazy to rid the high value electrolytics and replace with ~3uF WIMA MKS films or something that would actually fit.

P.S. Listening to K.D. Lang, Hymns of the 49th Parallel right now. It sounds like good vinyl. Then again, my TT and records have been packed up for 3 years now, and I'm not too sure how vinyl sounds like anymore.

WhenI got my PWD I sent it immediately to The Upgrade Company for their Siganature upgrade. When it cam back I did not like it at the begining so I thought the upgrade screwed it up. I let it burn in for about 200 hours and now it has IMO a better sound than my Wadia 27.

I just discovered this thread looking for help to decide if I should by the Bridge.
I have an iMac running itunes and Squeezeserver. My libaray is in a Seagate Freeagent 1T external drive all in Apple LossLess
I have an Airport Extreme as a router and two Airport Express extending the network. Each Airport Express is connected to a Squeezebox via the Ethernet output of the Airport Express. In both systems the digital output of the Squeezebox goes to a Genesis Digital Time Lens and then from there to the DAC (PWD in one system and Wadia 27 in the other).

Frst question, based on my current set up does it make any sense to ge the bridge?

If I should get the Bridge how should I set the system up based on my configuration?

Currently the external drive is connected via USB to the iMac. Should I connected to the USB input of the Airport Extreme to share it in the network? As I said I have iTunes and Squeezeserver running, do I need a different software running to make the Bridge work? or Should I just get a new NAS? Will the NAS be capable to work with the iTunes music files?

Sorry for al lthose questions but I am just starting to get into this.

Thanks.

Not really but it is a good idea to remove some hops in your chain.  If you are really wants to get the Bridge, I would highly recommend get a NAS instead of streaming out of a computer (less power use and much more quiet).

My configuration is fairly simple, I used to use a computer before but it draws around 250w 24/7 and now with NAS, it is around 7w.

QNAP TS220 > Airport Extreme > Airport Express > Bridge > WA22.

I don't know if the Bridge can read files served by the Squeezeserver.  If not, you can buy Twonky Server for Mac for like $20 or so, and leave the USB drive connected to the Mac so it can serve all the music to the Bridge, which will be cheaper than a NAS if you don't mind leaving the Mac running all the time.  Mine is running all the time because I run a music and video server that lets me access my music and video from over the internet with my iPad/iPhone, as well as an EyeTV so I can connect and watch TV (much sharper picture than my old basic Slingbox).  Anyway, you would use the TagNPlay app for iOS devices to control what music plays on the Bridge/PWD, and which server it should pull it from.

As for NAS - I find that Twonky Server for Mac does a better job than the Server built into my LaCie 2Tb NAS, where my LaCie server often lists the wrong play duration and bitrate of the music stored on the NAS.  Usually the problem is with VBR MP3 and Apple Lossless files, and I've had a trouble ticket running with LaCie for months and they haven't fixed it yet.  The LaCie server also serves music to iTunes as a shared library, but the play duration/bitrate is often wrong there too.  The files play fine, despite being reported wrong.  I only got the NAS so that I could access a copy of my music if the iMac is down for any reason.

The Bridge will play Apple Lossless files fine at 16/44, but I don't think 24/96 ALAC is supported yet - I haven't tried it lately to see if it's been fixed with an update.  I have all my 24/96 as FLAC for now.

After 6+ days of continuous burn it, I power cycled the DAC last night, and everything just sort of fell into place. No hint of upper-mid aggressiveness; and the bass volume and impact has really come out of its own. The DAC sounds just right now. Wierd.

Not yet. I am still thinking about it. I am not sure it will improve my current sound.

I don't think you will gain much, you are using the digital lens already but able to use 9 watts instead of 200+ watts is a selling point for me and not to mention the NAS is much less expensive a typical PC/MAC.

??? The power output of the dac doesn't change based on using the bridge or not.

But for me despite the bugs, the Bridge is really starting to be an enjoyable piece of hardware that is changing my listening habits for the better.  I used to fiddle too much with my computer and constantly changing songs, browsing the internet, getting distracted while listening to music.  Now, getting the computer out of my listening room has forced me to just actually listen to full albums with a lot more enjoyment and less distractions.  As for the sound, I'm really enjoying how clean, grain free, and analogue everything sounds. Out of my speakers I feel that the bass is very impactful, the highs are extended yet not too glaring, the mids/vocals are perfectly pronounced, and the transparency of the system is very amazing.
