Well the worst case is they get the option for over clocking if they ever decide to. Plus, Z97 mobos will generally be higher quality than the cheaper chipsets.I've been on /r/buildapc for the last hour. Almost 15 threads or so of people with new builds
What I've noticed:
3/4 of them have K processors and Z97 chipsets because they saw review videos that recommended them. They are not going to be overclocking. Some didn't even know what OC was. These people are spending the $40 premium on the K processor and the $30-$50+ premium on the Z97 when they could go for a B85 or H67.
People are not good with their money...at all.
Ah yeah, say it allows turbo boost to go higher for better fps.You should tell them to bump the v core a good 2-3 volts and they'll be good to go.![]()
