Anybody else think the new 12" Macbook Air looks basically like a Chromebook?

A bit similar to this one yes

But it's not anything that is big.

Technology has a very recurring theme in where the look and design of objects will tend to gravitate towards a median because it....well...is really the only way to make it so. And in this case, its to make it smaller. How else were you going to do it?

It however features a clamshell design alike to Apple's very early laptops.

I've been on /r/buildapc for the last hour. Almost 15 threads or so of people with new builds

What I've noticed:

3/4 of them have K processors and Z97 chipsets because they saw review videos that recommended them. They are not going to be overclocking. Some didn't even know what OC was. These people are spending the $40 premium on the K processor and the $30-$50+ premium on the Z97 when they could go for a B85 or H67.

People are not good with their money...at all.

Well the worst case is they get the option for over clocking if they ever decide to. Plus, Z97 mobos will generally be higher quality than the cheaper chipsets.

You should tell them to bump the v core a good 2-3 volts and they'll be good to go.
Ah yeah, say it allows turbo boost to go higher for better fps.

What setup is that?

Samsung 850 Pro 256GB, badass drive.

Very nice! The system that I upgraded the I/O in is a 2008 Dell Inspiron 530s, which only had SATA II and USB 2.0. The OS drive was the cheapest SSD I could find - a 60 GB Kingston V300. Not too shabby, considering!

Basically, very few people who build their own computers have any idea what they're doing. Most of them generally follow the hype train. If they're lucky, a smart guy will help them.

Z97 boards only have a few models that have a better power phase, that's it.
