Listening to Melody Gardot - Cry Wolf now, her voice, feels like honey that just drips out from the ortos and flows smoooothly into my ear...the guitar strings that were plucked...never heard anything sound so full yet tingly..

I think the eQ7 was made with Melody Gardot in mind!! totally in love~

I need to re-rip most of the songs...anything below 256kbps gives me some sibilance...and i need to invest in a LOD->Amp for my ipod nano 3g.

is that the female vocal you recommend a lot in that one thread about best female vocal in the music forums? I definitely have to check out her music one of these days.

I haven't listened to my e-Q7 for longer than around 20 minutes for the last week or so until today when I had them for a couple hours and I still like them. They definitely are good for female vocals and was using them on Melody Gardot today after that post in the last page and they are quite wonderful

after almost 80hrs has been put in,the ortos now really shine. Soundstage and imaging is there. Bass is really clean and with good impact, which don't muffle the mids and highs. Everything is just so clear.

Im listening to Schuyler Fisk's Afterglow as im typing this, and i feel like im writing a report as she's performing live in front of me.

So I find that using comply hurts the highs of this phone as well as making it super uncomfortable. Is there another way to increase the bass in this phone? I'm not a bass head but when I play Joy Division's Disorder or Massive Attack's Teardrop. I expect the bass to hit me hard.

Hi guys!

Owning the IE8, I really like them, but I can get the Ortos second hand as new for a good price, I am wondering...
Compared to IE8, how is instrument separation, detail, speed, imaging? What could I miss coming from IE8?
If I buy them, I will have a chance to compare them, but I will have to sell one of them in the end, because I can't afford to keep them both at the time.

The e-Q7 is better at instrument separation, clarity, details, vocals, transparency, imaging and speed but the IE8 does have a wider soundstage and more bass impact. The e-Q7 also sound more natural than the IE8. If you like big rumbling bass and wide soundstage you are probably better off with the IE8 but if you want a slightly more forward vocal and more details in your music the e-Q7 is your best bet. They are both great IEM with very different sound signature so it will be hard for us to recommend which is best for you. Is there anything lacking for you in the IE8?

Thanks for the advice!
Well, I really like my IE8 but it's my first high-end IEM (used SF3 and SF5pro before, though), and I would just like to taste something different.
I could do with a little less bass, as well as faster bass, and better transparency than IE8.
I think I will give them a try
