The box and packaging as a whole was great. I also love the cable.

I do find the shells a bit chunky and awkward to fit though. The main issue I have is the switch is right in the position where I like to push the iem in to get a secure deep fit. It’s took quite a bit of tip rolling, but I’ve settled on the divinus velvets.

All I’ll say so far about how it sound's is, it sounds really good. The tuning is very much my cup of tea.

With the switch in the back position, it’s similar to my HSE, which isn’t a total surprise as they graph very similarly.

20% tax on top for me though ☹️ For me it’s cheaper to buy direct from Oriveti for $180 (with the 10% discount), which works out at around £142 according to Google.

The OH700VB is fantastic. Best price to performance iem I’ve purchased/ heard and the best I’ve heard below $1k.

It offers at least 90% of what my Helios SE (HSE) brings, for less than half the price.

Obviously there are some slight variances in tuning, but with the switch in the back position, they are very similar, with the HSE having more sub bass and the OH700VB having more energy in the upper treble.

The HSE has a slight edge in imaging, but and overall resolution, but it’s minor. The OH700VB has really good imaging and separation - And to be honest the HSE really should have the edge for the cost over the OH700VB.

Soundstage is great also, it’s detailed but not sibilant or shouty at all. they Oriveti really smashed the tuning here - at least for my preferences.

The problem with the HSE is it’s fantastic for some genres but isn’t the best for others - such as metal. This is where the OH700VB has an ace up its sleeve, move the switch forward and suddenly there is more mid bass and a slight warmth, which works well with genres such as metal, which can often sound a little thin on the HSE and the OH700VB in the back position.

I feel like I’d only really be repeating what others have said. It’s no surprise they’ve pretty much been universally highly praised, by those who’ve listened to them.

The only gripe I have is the shells feel a bit cheap. They’re so light which gives the impression they’re hollow and the shell material is thin - similar to Penon iem’s I’ve owned.

The nozzles could also be a little longer, but this is really down to my personal preference and ear anatomy.

The shells do look nice though and the I really like the supplied cable.

In all honesty, the shells are really my only nitpick. Ultimately you buy them for the sound, and in that regard, it’s a very special iem.

With each day passing I am starting to appreciate the OH700VB more and more. This is now the reference of a neutral sound with a slight bass boost for me.

Quite frankly, and again I will have to say this, the graph would have totally discouraged me were I be looking to buy a iem in this price bracket. Frankly, I would not have even considered this type of sound earlier. I generally prefer a gentle V-shaped slightly coloured sound. But the OH700VB is so far removed from that!

The gentle boost in the bass with the switch in the down/forward position provides just enough level of fun to make the sound more engaging. The absolutely neutral and very transparent midrange is justly complemented by smooth yet highly detailed and crisp notes. For some, it may sound slightly dry, but mostly I find it as a very nice palette cleanser. The treble is another surprise - again very meticulously detailed, but it is not obtained by pushing them unnaturally forward. The brilliant and airy treble really caught me by surprise.

The soundstage is quite wide and tall, and the depth is pretty nice as well. The outstanding layering enhances the holographic presentation even more.

The OH700VB is an absolute gourmet experience - refined but not gaudy, effortlessly detailed but not unnaturally bright. Just one gripe - currently the bass feels slightly loose. A tighter bass response with a tiny bit more slam would have made the sound signature more complete.

Thanks to @PeacockObscura for pointing me here.

Mr Postman just delivered the Oriveti OD200. Straight onto the burn-in DAP. Good unboxing. Beautiful metal, Army Green little units. Custom type design that fit exceptionally well. Very nice, good sized, excellent, real leather case. It has a very malleable, softer cable with 2.5mm 3.5mm 4.4mm interchangeable audio plugs. I immediately noticed the 3.5mm adapter only put out one channel, but the 4.4m is working fine. I've got a spare, glitzy, Penon Vocal cable and some Penon Black 14mm tips that I will use after the stock cable. The OD200 is generally well reviewed so I'm looking for a good coherent DD after buying many hybrids. It will have to compete with the IMR Ozar, The KBear Believe, and IMR Bass Cannon 23 (2DD), and IMR Dark Matter (2 DD)...of my DDs.

... such a wonderful way to kick off the new year..... Couldn't be happier for the way 2024 just started for my ears at least.....

🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶

This OH700VB really took my heart and mind... I can tell you this for now....
Me at work this moment .. and all I can think of right now is just to get home as soon as possible and get those diamonds out of the "burn in" "oven" , and just let them slip gently to my ears (BTW... one of the most comfortable monitors ever tried 7 years now...) they are simply captivating...
Their unique and utterly romantic approach in sound and tuning overall brought in mind another favorite of mine (as I already also mentioned in the discovery thread yesterday..) the Yanyin Aladdin monitors..
Even the sub bass thumb is kind of similar here... But as it seems all the magic in both of them happens in their unique midrange when both male/female vocals gets to obtain flesh and bones but being also utterly ethereal as well...... A fully honest and romantic approach with the the exact "color" when and where is needed just like the bass..... When and where is called upon duty ...
This laid back, full bodied, but romantic presentation as well leaves me wanting each time more and more.....
The timbre here is essential nothing less than one of a kind with mesmerizing effects..

A few words on my initial impressions of the Oriveti OD200. I've got about 30-40 hours of burn in. I am using the stock 8 core cable that is very supple indeed and very hard to tangle up. The fit of the metal shell is semi-custom shape and fits me at quite straight angle. Because of other reviews I have the silver nozzles fitted. 14mm tips such as Acoustune 07, Spiral Dots, the new Penon Liqueur tips all fit my ear well, because of the straight angle of tip entry. Penon 15.5mm Orange tips because of the entry angle, surprisingly fit well too.

First thoughts

First thing I noticed was a very forward bass. I would in no way call these bass-head, but the placement of the bass means that it is always noticeably part of anything played. It is a very detailed bass. Bass notes do not have any hardness and do not have hard edges, but a slightly softer warmer edged texture. Instruments like the double bass, low drum notes are very forward in the mix in a very enjoyable manner. This is part of the general staging. Drum skins are almost planar like in their textural accuracy. Mids and vocals have a very musical tone and timbre, and are staged exactly where they should be. Piano notes such as the Gnossiennes of Eric Satie are almost luminous and almost reflect the white shine of the piano keys. The tuning is extremely coherent and organic and has no harshness. Indian music such as Ganamurthy by the late, U. Srinivas is tonally superb through these OD200's, with tablas, staged and sounding positionally correct as if actually at a concert. With vocal Jazz, My Funny Valentine, Chet Baker, sees the Double Bass alongside Bakers voice and the liquid piano notes just behind. Imaging on Yosi Horikawa's, Bubbles, is precise. The stage though is not uber wide, but has depth and height. In Justin Sullivan's, New Model Army's, Bradford, war rock group, "You Weren't There", harmonicas sound good and his emotion is strongly generated by this Oriveti OD200. Treble to my old ears is not heavy in detail and technicality and therefore non-fatiguing....not quite up to ESTs....but with this silver nozzle very agreeable but lacking the sparkle of some drivers.
Overall this is a great sounding IEM...that is for sure. It is holistically an organic, coherent, sounding IEM that I think everybody would enjoy...except the technicality junkies. (I did notice that there was a 10% discount sign on the Oriveti site). For the $199 this is an IEM that I would enjoy as my Desert Island IEM. The DAD method that Oriveti use definitely is a winner and makes a difference. I paid for this with my own money because of the recommendations.

With the Penon Vocal cable....everything goes up a notch and shines a bit more. All through my HiBy R6 III, middle gain at between 40-46. These definitely seem to prefer a bit of power to deliver.

Today's photo session I feel I reviewed the Oriveti iems in the wrong order and I'm struggling with the OD100 it has many positives it's just not the OD200 or OH700VB I'm going to review a couple of others before I come back to the OD100 so I can get it some perspective. The thing is I love it but don't want to come across too shill like lol

A word on the HiBy R6 III. In HiBy's audio settings there is a Plugin Section. In there is DRX10K Dynamics. Once opened we can increase or subdue the Bass, Mids, Treble, dynamics. Soooo....in relationship to the OrivetiOD200, the Beryllium coated driver accepts the changes extremely graciously. The 'Dynamic' changes seem to effect the root sound of the DAP. With added dynamics, bass impact can be increased as can the other frequencies, increasing the loudness say of mids vs bass and other different combinations and amounts (I think that is how it works....and it DOES work) . Almost like having a new DAP. Maybe the best little program HiBy have got on their DAPs. Having appllied it with Bass .9, Mids .8, treble left at 0.0...the dynamics are very engaging.

"While equalisation reshapes the amplitude of audio signal at select frequencies, most dynamics processors react to and reshape the amplitude of audio signals across the frequency spectrum. They are, in other words, 'automatic volume knobs".

I had a bespoke CLAN AUDIO cable made for the Oriveti OD200 turns out while it looks fab it's not a great match (sounds superb with my IMR EDP Ace a DD+Planar+BC) I then tried the OD200 with the Effect Audio Cadmus S 8W and its audio nirvana such a great match really elevates it to another level.

Was it a SPC cable from Clan Audio? I have the same but with copper and the match is perfect to me.
