+1. And if does not do that immediately, give it time. Once your brain gets used to the Traillii, you will find it hard to put down! They should put a big smile on your face.

Agreed. Although superceded by newer, more technically proficient summit-fi ; the coherent tuning and enjoyability of the Trailli still has its place. And not replicated.
IMHO, I do not feel it has been superseded. I still have yet to find the IEM that is superior to the Traillii. My Traillii outperformed Storm and Mentor for example. I also prefer it to Trifecta, Odin, Annihilator and Sony Z1R ( not that I dislike any of them ). Obviously we have our favorites, but this is the second time I have heard someone mention it is superseded by the latest batch of IEMs, and it is just not true. It still has as much or more detail combined with its tight high quality bass and the best timbre and mids.Agreed. At the upcoming CanJam and some visits to my local stores I will compare it to the Amber Pearl, CanPur and some of the others currently being hyped this year. I think I may make the jump to HPs though, but will see.
Traillii does remind me of the stock Sennheiser HE-1 in some ways. Just a very high level of balance between the tonality, texture and technicalities and the big sound presentation of course.
when I had an Annihilator '21 for an extended loan I initially felt that it had the edge on detail compared to the Traillii. But after further listening and comparisons I would hear the same micro details on the bird, they just didn't jump out at you as much. I could use either as an all-rounder, with the bird being a more relaxed one and the Annihilator a more intense listen. and that a bass specialist may be needed to complement either, not that I had any major gripes with the bass on them. while it doesn't have that DD thump I remember having some jaw dropping moments from the bass on the bird when I first got it. Have to appreciate that I could have them in my ears for hours on end without any listening fatigue compared to sets like the Z1R, Ragnar, or Annihilator, which impress more out the gate. I've demoed the VE Aura for a few hours and look forward to hearing it again and comparing to the Traillii, seriously impressive set.IMHO, I do not feel it has been superseded. Perhaps superseded may be a poor choice of words. Superseded does not mean better.
I imagine technological advancements in IEM design, crossover electronics, BA drivers, BCD etc... may potentially result in IEM's that have strengths over the bird. Storm's bass presentation and impact were superior to the bird ; and it was a rich, full, in-depth presentation. Different. Annihilator did seem like it had more space, resolution and detail. Something the Bird was well known for in its day. But less is sometimes more ; and I enjoy the Bird immensely. Only the Storm has come close for me.
Whilst I'm no technophile in the industry, I trust my ears. And have had the fortune of listening to a number of IEM's.
I reiterate that few have the coherent enjoyment the Trailli, even after these ears. It's timbre is just... so perfect.

Definitely more options nowadays on the market playing at that level. Very keen to hear the storm, hopefully at Canjam NYC. Reminiscent of the Traillii's release in that I've read near universal praise and few criticisms aside from the price and wait time.Perhaps superseded may be a poor choice of words. The sound signature isn't exactly the same as Trialli. They're gorgeous and surprisingly comfortable despite their size and metal construction (I prefer resin for comfort). They're also difficult to drive. Almost to the level of a full sized headphone and in fact, we plugged them into a headphone amplifier to get the most out of them. The SP2000/3000 and Chord Hugo2 drove them 'okay' but not at full potential.
My initial impressions were that Storm was a very busy IEM. But again, there was that coherence and x-factor that makes a very good IEM stand out as top tier. I would rate Storm as one of the top 3 I have ever heard. I would say it would scale with the source. It reminded me of a full sized headphone more than any other IEM.
I'd like a longer listen before committing. It comes with a very nice cable and whilst there are only supposedly 50 LE units in the wild ... The BA timbre is barely perceptible and the bass implementation for a BA/EST unit excellent.
I'll be honest and say I actually didn't recognise them the first time I tried them. So had tried them blind. My impressions stand.

Do Traillii's benefit from use because my Mellianus sounded brittle and thin for many months but now they've smoothed out and sound very balanced. Can't believe it's just down to getting a good fit. I'm surprised an all BA set changes with use but it seems that way.

Can't really recall that they did. Brittle and thin suggests a poor fit. The first thing I would consider is go up in tip size... or a deeper insertion.
The Oriolus tips are pleasantly comfortable. I found Sedna was the closest aftermarket tip in sound. But YMMV like all IEM things.

It could probably be not BA drivers themselves but cable and internal wires burn-in, along with tips adjusting closer to your ear canal shape.Do Traillii's benefit from use because my Mellianus sounded brittle and thin for many months but now they've smoothed out and sound very balanced. I am sure they will benefit from use a little, but really sounded excellent to me from first listen. I burn in everything anyway though, even if only to make sure there are no issues with them.Do Traillii's benefit from use because my Mellianus sounded brittle and thin for many months but now they've smoothed out and sound very balanced. I've had 2 of these stock cables before. Lol. I think you're better off getting a FT cable for about same price on classifieds.Good morning/afternoon ladies and gents. I'm in search of a stock cable.
