I did briefly try the P6 Pro with Traillii. The sound is organic and lush, a really unique and wonderful pairing. The interface of P6 Pro, however, is terrible. You will definitely want to audit it with Andrew before buying one.

Also, from the survey of 22 Chinese users, around 1/3 of them use it with the LPGT Ti, and I have also seen many P6 Pro + Traillii users.
demoed traillii on the lpgt...it was amazing.

Speaking of non-Android daps, has anyone else tried bird with a Sony WM1Z? I love this pair up. It rivals SP2K on sq but the lack of streaming is what kills it for me. It would be great to hear some other people’s impressions though :)

What source is everyone using for the Traillii? Right now I have the DX300 and SP2000 Cu. I prefer the SP2000 but it's no slouch on the DX300 either, it's a bit on the warm sound but still very nice whereas the SP2000 I consider to be a little brighter with less bass impact than the DX300. These IEMs seem to work well with just about anything. I am tempted to try the LP P6 Pro but I rely on Spotify... so I'd have to eventually convert my whole library to my own files. Which is something I am prepared to do if the synergy is "perfect" for me
The Traillii sounds great out of my N8. As folks are saying the C9 elevated the sound of the SP2000 by itself, they might be the way to go. However, since you said it would basically be a desktop setup in some of your responses, why not go with an actual desktop amp vs the C9? It might sound even better and you can just keep it plugged in. You might want to ask Andy Kong which Cayin desktop amp outperforms the C9. Just a thought.

Also, what about the Benchmark HPA-4? If that would outperform the C9, it might be perfect and also work with HP’s down the road. I used them at a couple of the shows and it sounded awesome on the IEM’s I used in it. Keep us posted.

I wonder if there are desktop amps that are designed with IEM use cases in mind. I once tried my Broadway Amp (balanced version) with IEMs and the result was not good.

I think I am going to get a C9 regardless just to check it out, but I'm more focused on maximizing the Traillii in portable use. Basically, DAP synergy is what I am looking for.

TRAILLII:

I am glad there is a dedicated thread now. I did post on the Flinkenick's thread a comparison of the Traillii and the Erlkoenig a day after I got the Traillii.

Now that I know the Traillii better (2 week in and a ton of time with it) I feel more qualified to to talk about it. I will refer to the Traillii as "T" for the rest of this post.

I use the T with mainly DX300 on D5 or D3. Medium gain with Tidal. I also have used it with the Jotunheim on balanced low gain. Using Tidal also. I roughly listen to 40% jazz, 40% Ben Howard, Alexi Murdoch, Jose Gonzalez type stuff, and 10% classic rock i.e. Steely Dan, Fleetwood Mac, etc......

4 years ago I started a Headphone quest. Three and a half years ago I moved into an IEM quest. I started to prefer IEMs over HPs due to portability and intimacy. Not walk around portability but around the house or take to work for the day or grab one of numerous IEMs during the night from the nightstand drawer next to the bed,

I am over 60 IEMs into the quest. Ridiculous in itself. With any passion none of this has been planned. Just following a passion.

I love IEMs but the T is different than any other IEM I have owned. It really sounds like the best, most engaging, most clear, most natural open back Headphone on the market. It is an open back headphone that does not have the issue of hearing sounds around me.

Due to the wide stage and clarity of the T, at times I feel like I need to stop listening so the sound is not annoying those around me. Then I realize I have an IEM in my ears with excellent isolation and no sound is bleeding to others around me. Extremely mind boggling at times.

The staging of the T is the most prominent thing that comes to me at first. The stage is super wide. In a good recording I can pick out where every instrument and the vocals are on the stage. Very far left and right and a little front to back. What a joy. The notes are so spread out and clear but still super engaging. Nothing jumps out with the mids, the bass and the treble that distract from the enjoyment of the music.

The timbre is extremely natural. This is an unbelievably well tuned IEM. With other IEMs things jump out as not blending together well. That does not exist with the T. Everything blends together extremely well.

The T is not like an IEM. Therefore it is not as intimate as other IEMs. Erlkonig or Elysium come to mind for intimacy. This is an IEM to enjoy and live the music. It is an extremely engaging IEM.

I know I have said this already but it is not an IEM that has the sound produced within the space of your head. It is the most amazing "Open Back Headphone" I have ever heard. The music is not just in your head but is in and all around your head. The music is not colored. To me the music is true to how it was meant to be heard. Whatever the hell that means. A better way to say it is that the sound is true to how I think the sound is supposed to be heard.

I can of course easily add the Traillili to the list of IEMs I thoroughly enjoy. I need variety and the Traillii is such an enjoyable addition. So different to any other IEM I have heard.

That is my take for the moment.

Nice to read your experience!

I am coming from the Susvara, and was on the look out for a portable partner. I though I give the T a try, I really liked what I read in the reviews. So far, Susvara is still King in technicalities but I do not mind crowning the T as Queen. The T is very similar to the Sus, not the same, but close enough for me. Out of the box the T is more engaging for sure: a Sus needs a lot work (speaker amps, pad rolling and moderate EQ) to achieve this.

Only 5 hours in the bank, maybe it will get even better with some days of playtime. Musictech recommended 50. The sus really needed 100 hours minimum. So far so good. Really happy,

What is your experience with burn-in/break-in?

Oriolus also suggested 50 but I didn’t hear much changes after around 15.

There is definitely significant value in having one device that has everything you need for portable use. Then, if you need to heat up your coffee, you don't need to shut off the music and unplug from your transportable set up which is what I have to do now. My transportable is Hugo 2 and my mobile is Lotoo Paw S1, but there is a significant sound quality gap between the two.

Yeah, I like being able to take the best with me on the go which is why I’m pretty into DAPs.

I needed over 100 hours, but that might have been because of what was going on with work and not listening allot while burning in, and my mood. I used to check it each day and sometimes it was awesome and sometimes I wondered what I purchased. Then I finally spent time with it and it locked in for me as the demo had done. This was well after 100 hours though. I ended up burning in up to 260 hours, with classical, jazz, etc., but that is not needed. I will say this though, when I started burning it in with "Mars" from Holst's The Planets (Zubin Mehta and the Los Angeles Philharmonic) I felt like it really began sounding great. Now, I had work under control and was happier, so more myself. Therefore what I just said is not scientific by any means, and nothing like the time I spend when doing reviews. The only fact in all of this was that out of the box I was definitely not happy with it, and it did need some time. So maybe 50 hours is all it needs as others have said?

Also what was important for me was finding the right tips. I had figured this out from my audition and use the Sedna EarFitLights. The right tip is very important. Some folks like what comes with it, and allot of owners like me did not like the standard tips and needed to find what fit them the best. Enjoy!

Nice, received 3 different types from Senda together with the T :) ... I like transparant Azla Sendafit Xelastem, got the EarfitLight too, havent tried it yet, but really enjoy the Inear Comply L (I have huge shrek ears).

I'm burning with electronic music: melodic techno mostly... should have enough energy in all fequencies and the extremes for burnin :) Looking forward to how it will progress.

similar experience for me, where airiness and layering improved (expanded even further) after around 15 - 20 hours, per what @aaf evo said.
