Spent a bit of time listening to this wallet destroyer of a setup.

Sadly, I think this actually sounds worse with Orpheus compared to 1960s. With 1960s, the DMP gives bird a perfectly balanced, technical yet highly musical sound. However with Orpheus, the mids get pushed too forward and the mid bass sounds a bit too heavy, sacrificing some sub bass rumble and depth.

Pretty disappointing. I was hoping this would’ve been the most incredible listening experience of my life, given the price tag lol. I guess it proves once again that synergy is key. I’ll go back to the stock cable for future bird & DMP sessions.

Bring the mids forward, sounds like my thing.

Yes, it is It sounds amazing with SP2K and Orpheus. At this point in time, that is my favourite pairing for Bird+Orpheus. I’m considering trying a Shanling M8 next.

Saw a cute VN IEM protective bag. But I can only find it in a Taobao shop that sells Jap products.

I bought a bunch (4) of those Campfire Audio Mesh IEM bags. I just got them this week. I like them so much, I bought 4 more of them. They are perfect. As soon as I take my IEMs out of my ears, the mesh bag goes right on to protect it. You can wrap the cable around the mesh bag for easy storage into any case you have handy. It keeps them well organized and protected.

They are a bit small for custom ear tips (e.g. Adv Eartune fidelity). But, my Custom LX fits fine into them fine.

That is a nice case. I just wish we could order directly from Van Nuys. I would buy a bunch of their cases if it were easier to do.

I admit that with an 8 wires cable, the Van Nuys pouch are a bit small. Still ok to carry it as long as you know there will be no pressure to smash the birds. But with any other 4 wires cables it is perfect.

I want to do LP7 Ti + D8000 Pro as my ultimate sound, along with other IEMs like Traillii and FS. Will surely report back the results, perhaps not in this thread.

Over the Utopia? Or he1000se? Interested to hear your thoughts. I found the final house sound a tad bright but technically excellent. I do know my dealer really likes it though! It’s an excellent headphone
