I know, nobody can vote. And the idea of the poll is purely to indicate interest in the new topmodels from Sennheiser and Grado.

Oh yeah.

This thread is a big proof that Edition 8 are completely ignored and are buried by HD800s and PS-1000s.

Interested in both. You don't have a pulse if the impending release of these cans doesn't interest you. Won't buy until I can get the Senn's for half price just like I did on the HD650's. That's just the way I roll. Have my doubts about the HD800's with that silver plated cable. That will have to go. Hope the PS1000 is not as disappointing to me as the GS1000.

Yes, I admit I have been swayed by all of the excitement surrounding the HD800 & PS1000, particularly the HD800. After a recent discussion with Drew at Moon Audio, he thought I may prefer the Edition 9 to the HD800. Maybe I should take a deep breath, count to 10 and reassess the situation.

Thank You!!!

I seriously thought I was the only one thinking this. The K-1000 still gives me goosebumps even though I've listened to it for years. It has such a neutral, transparent, uncolored sound that... oh well you know the rest if you've heard it in a good system.

It is simply the most transparent pipeline into the music that I've heard.

I was thinking of canceling too. I am very happy with my cans, and I think I got caught up in the hype machine of new very expensive headphones coming out. That's happened over and over and the classic phones have still been at the pinnacle when the dust settles.

Slapping wood and metal together in the PS-1000 with the GS-1000 design doesn't seem like much engineering to me considering the almost $2K price tag, so I'm pretty sure I will still like the HP-2 which is all about dissapearing and leaving the music. John hasn't made anything close to it so the HD800 is more interesting but not sure if I'll keep my pre-order... we'll see I guess.

Well said!
The K1000 is absolutely stunning, and like you I might have been caught up by the hype. Cause we have been waiting for new possible state-of-the-art 'phones for years, and when it suddenly appear...
The Grado PS1000 don't interest me at all.

If AKG resurrected the K1000 (again), or god forbid come up with the K2000. Then I am certainly in.

But AKG might just do that as all the other players are all doing it! I hope they lauch an easier to drive K1000 with wicked slam! (dreaming of course). And not so ugly or uncomfortable!!

The ifunny thing is that a K-1000 resurrection will depend on sales of the HD-800 and PS-1000. If they do well, AKG will probably bring it back.

The company I'd really like to see roll out a statement product is Beyerdynamic. Shame the DT48 is underappreciated and relatively unknown - it is one of the most detailed and transparent headphones I've heard for vocals and acoustics. If they're capable of that, then Beyerdynamic is capable of a world class statement headphone. Let's hope they build one.

Agreed, that would leave me no choice.
