Outstanding Fang, I've bought and sold pretty much everything after acquiring HE-5LEs. Would get HE-6 someday and things like these give me the confidence to buy your stuff again.

Keep it up...

I got my replacement this morning and I couldn't be happier.

I would like to thank everyone at HFM for initiating this process and making it so smooth. One of the best customer service I've seen in a while.

Hi, I can't insert (upload) an image of my HE-400 so you guys can help me confirm if mine are from the bad batch. It says "There was a problem submitting this to the server. Please try again. "

Thanks

Check page 2, you'll find an image of the old drivers (white).

Ok, I haven't had a 10 posts min. reached yet so my bad. Now I am past that so here are the pics. The color is more like bone like so would like your help to identify whether mine are from the bad batch or not. What do you think?

For comparison, the tablecloth is pure white.

Kjeldsen thanks for a response. Can't listen to them as my phone amp is not around right now. So yours look alike and you are sure it is the good rev2 version? Here is the pic where it looks very much like mine and jerg says it is 100% rev3: http://www.head-fi.org/t/630549/open-announcement-on-the-hifiman-he-400/15#post_8756681 . He also says (a few posts ahead) this: Yeah, I guess a better way to describe rev2 vs rev3 is, rev2 = clear white, rev3 = bone.

I have the rev2.  I think you have the rev2 as well.  There are multiple images on the HE-400 thread.  You could post directly to the HE-400 review thread for more feedback, from multiple people who have had both the rev2 and rev3 if you want to be real sure.

Yeah Gorgorsan that's a rev-(screechy treble aka "3") HE400 unfortunately. The good thing is you can replace it absolutely free as headdirect will even refund the shipping cost.

Again,

rev3

(post rev3) rev2

The discerning difference you can rely on is that you can see the edges of the metal plate holding the magnets through the rev2 plastic, but not the rev3.

Thanks Jerg for confirmation! Today I just had a first listen and no doubt they have to be r3 version as after few minutes I had to put them down because my ears were hurting. I will try to arrange the replacement with my local dealer (I am from Slovenia).
