Dude, seriously, why are you not doing the acrylic fix that has been discussed many times here? Just do it and be done with the worry. Even if you could count on ONKYO service to completely fix the issue (who knows if that is true) why would you want the lost time as it would take weeks and you would have to pay shipping one way. The acrylic fix sounds very easy, quite effective and not at all expensive. Several members here have done it, read back several pages and then PM them for more info, but do it before the jacks fail.

I think you mis-understood what I mean by loose jack. I am not talking about the whole connector coming loose, but contact pins itself where insertion is affected. So no, acrylic fix would not help for this. The 3.5mm connector itself is solidly fixed to the player.

I have JP dp-x1 for 7 months. No, still not loose and no bad contact. Insert the jack is easier than my phone, but no bad contact during travel to work.

Has it gotten easier to insert from the first time, or has it been exactly the same? I ask because all the ones I've had started out feeling nice and tight, then gradually they became looser and looser. So if your has gotten easier than the first use, my experience is that it is likely that eventually will go the same way.

Gotcha, my bad, I did misunderstand you. Cheers.

It is almost the same as it come. BTW I only use the 3.5 . And the 2.5 is for trying out balanced earphones occasionally.

And during 7 months I used L-shaped jack on mobile iem and I-shaped jack at home for earphones.

TRRS is 4 pole. There is 2.5mm TRRS (used in AK players) and 3.5mm TRRS (used in HiFiMan and Sony players or used for in line microphone).

As for the highlighted bold part:

Hifiman HM-901, HM-802, HM-801, HM-650 lines (and their variants) have all 3.5 mm balanced TRRS output, either switchable or separate sockets.
Sony ZX-2 3.5mm TRRS balanced
ifi Pro iCan has one of these too.

Cheers!!

I honestly did not know that, thanks for the heads-up and teaching me something new!

My decent stack. The bicycle rubber seems to work best. Inserted a piece of that sticky rubber between devices so there's no rubbing. Epic bass!

Thanks goldendarko. It is indeed TH-X00.
Forgot to say, the Mojo also acts as a decent DAP stand for video viewing. Not that cost effective but does the job :) I am going overseas next month and this rig will serve me well for audio and video play during those long flights. Not taking the Fostex cans with me for obvious reasons but both Oppo PM-3 and the Flare R2Pro IEMs will be sufficiently entertaining for sure.

Great, simple/elegant solution for pairing/stabilizing your devices, just where did you find/purchase that rubber bicycle strap...?...

FYI

After two updates, I think foobar2000 mobile (app) is getting close to the level of Neutron.  And it is free.

mine started out with a tight grip yet still loosened overtime and now it's impossible to use the 3.5mm in portable use :-s

2.5mm still works for the time being

Had mine a week, was having a close inspection of the 3.5mm jack, and noticed it has a bit of travel in it, maybe half a Mm. That's pretty poor I think for a $900 device. The unit came out of Hong Kong. I have read people using glue, but why should I, it should be perfect, especially from Onkyo.

I need some help with my brand new Onkyo DP-X1.  I am new at DAP and I am not an audio expert.  I am just moving from an Apple Ipod Classic to the DP-X1.  I have 21,000 songs in my itunes account.  I copied the entire Itunes Media folder to my SanDisk 200 Micro SDXC card.  Finally after 20 hours all my music is there.  Unfortunately, no playlist were copied into my DP-X1.  With 21,000 songs it will take forever to organize them again.  Is there any solution to get them organized into playlists like I had in Itunes?  I tried downloading the M3Unify app somebody recommended in this forum but it only works for Mac PC.  I have a Windows 10 PC.  What is the best way to organize my music?

I also have problems with the DP-X1 keeping the WI-FI connection.   Very often it gets disconnected and I get a message "Unable to connect to server"  Have other users experienced the same problem.  I have a fast internet service and everything else I have connected to it works perfectly fine.  I am starting to think I have a defective unit.  Could that be the reason?

Thanks for your help.
