Does it has a trail period like Tidal?
If so, I may give it a try.
Yes the "Premium" service has a free 30 day trial period, try it out, you may like it.

Do another trial that may save you money. Do some blind listening tests between lossless and lossy streaming. See if you can tell the difference consistently over multiple trials. If you are can't hear the difference why pay for a premium service right?
I regularly check in XDA to see anyone is starting the development for DP-X1 rooting.
Still no luck til now.
Hi does this mean that it can't be done with the DPX1 yet and that I shouldn't try it? I have everything tuned now to the best sound I've ever had from a mobile unit. But...
me being me, like everyone here, can't leave well enough alone. I'm sorely tempted to try the instructions outlined on various sites.
From what you're telling me though I gather I wouldn't get very far. Is that right? t would really be obliged if you just saved me from bricking my Onkyo. Yikes.
Rooting is easy. I posted detailed instructions earlier in the thread, if you want to try it. My DP-X1 has been running just fine rooted for weeks.

... but I don't think any of them have anything to do with audio.
Thanks sq3rjick! Have you gotten Viper or other audio hacks installed and running?
Also, does anyone know if you can load multiple audio hacks, e.g., Viper, Dolby Atmos, Maxxspace, etc. all at the same time?
Johnny, I'm still a bit nervous but will take a deep breath probably give it a go this weekend. Let us know if you try it and the results. I'll do the same, along with any cautions I come across.
Can you test to see how much it increases battery life by. Thanks

Another tweak that you might want to do while rooted is to install build.prop editor and add the line "af.resampler.quality = 4“ in the build.prop. This is supposed to increase Android resampling quality and remove resampling artifacts. There were however reports that it broke audio playback on Android 6. But AFAIK you can always remove / reset the line if anything goes wrong. Might remove the "washing machine" sound for 3rd party players?
